Die Hydratisierung :des freien Kalkes kann während oder nach Vermahlung - der Klinker erfolgen. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass eine solche Hydratisierung von in Klinker material enthaltenem freiem Kalk durch geführt werden kann, wenn man die in der Vermahlung befindliche oder fertig gemah lene Zementmasse mit Dampf oder feinzer stäubtem Wasser bei einer etwa zwischen 80 bis 210 C liegenden Temperatur behandelt;
die :Schnelligkeit der Er härtung durch Steigerung des Kalkgehaltes zu erhöhen und damit verbundene schädliche Wirkungen zu vermeiden.;
Process for the production of volumetric hydraulic cement. It is known that the hydraulic properties of a cement depend to a large extent on the so-called hydraulic module, i.e. on the size of the ratio between the quantity, the basic and the acidic constituents, and that the speed of hardening of a cement increases with increasing The value of the hydraulic modulus, or practically speaking of the calcium oxide, in its proportion to the acidic components increases. The possibility of increasing the lime content, however, is limited and depends to a considerable extent on the fineness of the grinding, the raw materials.
The finer the raw materials are ground, the more so. more Caleiumogyd can be used in the raw mixture to be sintered without the risk that the lime contained in the raw mixture remains unbound in the clinker and leads to the impermissible property of so-called blowing of the cement. The grinding of the cement raw materials up to.
A very high degree of fineness is, however, associated with very high grids.
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain rapidly hardening cement, i.e. cement with a high hydraulic modulus, when using materials which are only ground to the degree of fineness customary for normal port cement, and which is nevertheless completely free of the propulsion property.
According to the invention, this result is achieved in that a raw mixture is used, the lime content of which exceeds the amount that binds during sintering and is sufficient to produce a cement with a high hydraulic modulus of at least 2.20, and that the free lime remaining in the burnt clinker is largely hydrated while avoiding simultaneous hydration of the cement itself.
The hydration: the free lime can take place during or after grinding - the clinker. It has been shown that such a hydration of free lime contained in clinker material can be carried out if the cement mass which is being ground or has been ground is treated with steam or finely dusted water at a temperature between about 80 to 210 C. ;
and preferably at temperatures that are above <B> 100 '</B> C, since it has been shown that the hydration of the lime in the above-mentioned interval of higher temperatures takes place more quickly than at temperatures that are <B> 100 'or less. If the hydration is carried out in the above-mentioned interval of higher temperatures, then hydration of the cement itself is practically completely absent, while such hydration occurs to a considerable extent at lower temperatures, so that the intended purpose is more or less lacking.
For example, if the raw materials are finely ground and have a lime content of 66%, clinkers are obtained: when they are ground, they result in a non-floating, i.e. non-floating, cement; then the same lime content when using a raw mixture whose degree of fineness corresponds only to that usual in the production of normal Portland cement would lead to clinkers in which the amount of bound lime is too small to give a rapidly hardening cement.
In addition, the cement obtained by grinding the clinker would have the property of blowing. Even if one were to deprive the cement of the property of floating by subjecting it to a treatment according to the provisions of the invention, by which the free lime is hydrated without at the same time also bringing about a hydration of the cement itself, the purpose of the Recovery of a rapidly setting cement cannot be achieved,
because the hydraulic module (of this cement would be below the size of 2., 2.0, which is necessary for achieving rapid hardening).
In order to be able to achieve a rapidly hardening, non-floating cement without excessively fine grinding of the raw materials, the lime content of the raw materials assumed in the assumed case is increased to, for example, <B> 68% </B>. If this raw mixture is burned, then again free lime remains in the clinkers.
But a larger amount of lime is bound than. if the raw mix only. 66r% contains and this larger amount of bound lime is sufficient to give the fer term cement after hydration of the free lime in the way belonging to the essence of the invention, a hydraulic module of 2.20 or above, which he is necessary to the cement quickly to make hardening.
Although the speed of hardening of a cement depends not only on the hydrau lic module, but also to a considerable extent on the so-called silicate module, that is, on the ratio of the silica contained in the mixture to the aluminum oxide and the iron oxide, it needs in connection with of the present invention on .these circumstances that come under consideration not to be discussed, .as only the influence of lime comes into consideration for the invention and this is only intended
to: Increase the speed of hardening by increasing the lime content and avoid the associated harmful effects .;
