Device for cooling the stator of electrical machines. In electrical machines with an internal circuit of the gaseous coolant, it can be useful to arrange a fan for moving the coolant through the machine only on one end face of the machine. This case occurs, for example, in steam turbine sets in which one end face of the generator is connected to the end face of the steam turbine directly or through the intermediary of an intermediate ring.
If one were to simply drive the coolant through the machine from one end to the other in machines with a fan on one side, the result would be uneven cooling of the stator iron on both sides.
It is therefore useful in sol chen machines to divide the stator iron into two parts and to lead part of the coolant directly from the end face of the machine located near the fan through the airways of the part of the stator iron lying next to the fan while Another part of the coolant conveyed by the fan is routed through appropriately thermally insulated ducts or pipes to the other end of the machine, from where it is passed through the cooling paths of the fan from the stator iron or behind the back of the latter in the housing distant part of the rotor and stator iron flows.
The warm coolant of both rotor and stator iron parts can then be discharged into the collecting space through a radial outflow slot located in the stator iron.
Based on the drawing, the subject matter of the invention will be described approximately examples in some Ausfüh. In the game Ausführungsbei shown in Fig. 1, the effective iron of the rotor and the stator is divided into three parts 1, 1 'and 1 "or 2, 2', 2". Radial outflow slots 3, 3 'or. 4, 4 'for the coolant.
With 5 the stator winding of the machine, with 6 the housing and with 7 .der serving to move the coolant fan on one end of the machine. designated. The fan sucks in the coolant through the inflow opening 8 and initially conveys it into the front chamber 9 located on the right in the drawing.
From there, part of the coolant goes through the axial cooling channels 10 'respectively. 11 'of the right-hand part of the runner respectively. of the stand iron and escapes through the radial outflow slots 3 'respectively. 4 'in the collecting room.
Another part of the coolant goes through in the back of the housing bypass pipes 12, which are expediently thermally insulated from the warm coolant in the plenum of the housing, to the left-hand end chamber of the machine and is divided from there in a similar manner to the right the axial cooling channels 10 respectively. 11 of the rotor and the stator to finally bezw through the radial outflow slots 3. 4 also exit into the collecting area. From there the coolant is passed through the outlet opening 13 to a recooler, not shown in the drawing, in order to start the cycle again after flowing through it.
As can be seen from the guidance of the coolant indicated by arrows, the cooling of the left side of the machine is equivalent to that of the right side.
If, in certain cases, the diversion of the coolant to the other end of the machine results in a certain preheating of the coolant, so that the cooling of the two sides of the machine would be unequal, this disadvantage can be compensated for by the radial outflow slots 3, 3 'and 4,
4 'from the center a little more towards the side of the machine facing away from the fan; so that the area allocated to this part of the coolant becomes smaller than that adjacent to the fan. In the case of radially longer machines or in the case of any structurally unavoidable throttling of the coolant flow for the machine side facing away from the fan, a pressure drop that can no longer be neglected could result.
This could be remedied in a simple manner by arranging a small additional ventilators 14, shown dotted on the left side of the machine, which is connected in series with the main ventilator 7.
It is not necessary to arrange an axially short part between the main parts of the effective iron to a certain extent as a partition wall, but any eddies of the colliding coolant flows can be avoided by other means, for example by installing guide blades. Instead of the embodiment of the diversion for the coolant as shown in FIG. 1 as pipes arranged in the housing, it can also be useful
Axial channels of the stator iron to use this or you can arrange channels in the housing that are made of one piece with the latter or preferably made of heat-insulating material, ge can be used separately.
If the warm exhaust air is guided in a ring-shaped collecting space around the circumference of the stator back to one or more outlet nozzles, there is a risk that the flow of the warm air in the circumference of the stator back through the axially on the circumference of the stator in the housing arranged cold air transfer channels is disturbed. You can avoid this danger by
that one arranges the cold air ducts over the annular hot air collecting space. However, this increases the outer diameter of the housing and makes its construction more complex.
But you can also arrange the axial cold air channels on the stand back at those Stel sources where there is no pronounced circumferential flow of warm air. These are the points at which the outflowing hot air stream divides in the annular collecting space of the housing into two branches flowing around the circumference in opposite directions.
2 and 3 show an exemplary embodiment for this, namely FIG. 2 in longitudinal section, and FIG. 3 in cross section according to the lines r1-B. With 1 here is the Stän, with 2 the runner and 3 with the Ge housing of the machine. The cooling air enters the machine through the cold air nozzle 4 and is driven by the fan 5 into the pressure chamber 6 of the front face of the machine.
From here, as the arrows indicate, with simultaneous cooling of the winding heads 7, part of the cooling air makes its way through axial bores 8 of the stator and 9 of the rotor, through which it flows: this flows to about the middle of the effective stator iron and escapes through the Ra dialsehlitz 10 to the outside in the annular hot air collecting space 11.
Another part of the cooling air is passed through on the back: the stator iron arranged transfer channels 12 and 13 to the side of the machine facing away from the fan, is distributed from the pressure chamber 14 located there according to the arrows drawn through the axial channels 8 'of the stator respectively. 9 'of the rotor and, after flowing through these axial channels, also escapes through the radial slot 10' into the warm air collecting space 11.
The radial slots 10 and 10 'are expediently separated from one another by an axially short laminated core 1' of the effective stator iron.
The further course of the cooling air can best be seen in FIG. The arrows drawn show the direction in which the air flows out of the agial ducts of the rotor and stator into the radial slot 10 '.
Since only one outlet 15 is provided for the warm air on the lower side of the machine, the air flows in the upper part of the effective stator iron in two .Ströme in the warm air plenum 11 around the circumference of the housing Flow in two opposite directions in order to finally emerge from the discharge nozzle 15 at the bottom.
In this outflow nozzle, the two partial air flows reunite to form a single one.
At those points where the air divides into two streams at the top and the two streams merge again at the bottom, the annular warm air collecting space 11 is not in the circumferential direction through which cooling air flows. Therefore, without disturbing the outflow of the warm exhaust air, the transfer channels 1 \? and 13 for the cold air to be supplied to the other end of the machine.
It is useful, where this is possible for structural reasons, to give the ducts such external contours that they match the flow lines of the warm exhaust air, such as the cold air duct 13 in the lower part of Fig. 3 shows.
In the case of machines with a higher output, it may be desirable to arrange two or more of them around the circumference instead of a single outflow nozzle for the warm air. If, for example, one were to see two outflow nozzles at diametrically opposite points on the stand circumference, the cooling air flows would correspondingly split at four points and flow out into the warm air collecting space in the opposite direction, so that the axial transfer channels for the cold air would again be found at these points can install.
From FIG. 3 it is readily apparent that the placement of the transfer channels for the cold air at the points at which the warm exhaust air divides into two branches in the hot air collection space is an extremely favorable utilization of the space required for the placement of the Transfer channels means available space.
If the ducts were to be laid in a plane at right angles to the center plane of the outlet connection, the circumferential flow of the hot air would be seriously disturbed.
In some cases it will also be expedient to give the transfer ducts for the cold air a sufficiently large cross-section, with the ducts above the outside. To let the diameter of the housing step out. This is possible in an inconspicuous way in the outlet connection 15, as FIG. 3 shows.
Since the transfer channels for the cold air are located directly in the hot air plenum 11, it is useful to clad these over conduction channels with heat-insulating material. But you can also make the axial channels entirely from heat-insulating material.
The cold air transfer channels 12 and 13 could also, instead of one, consist of several parallel axial channels, wherein the partitions of the parallel channels can serve to stiffen the machine housing. The cooling device can be used for both circulatory and draft cooling.
The invention also extends not only to machines with air cooling, but can also just as well be used for cooling devices with other gases, such as hydrogen, helium, etc., if appropriately modified.
