-, Relais<I>U,</I> Kontakt von WT, -I-.
Method and device for the automatic production of electrical connections. The invention relates to a process and a device that are used for the automatic construction of electrical connec tions. It can be call or signal systems, remote control systems, such as those found in heavy current engineering, or telephone systems. In the latter, the method will be particularly useful for long-distance transport. In the following, specific reference is made to tasks that can occur in this special branch of reporting technology.
Up until now, the telephonic long-distance traffic via the local office records the calling subscriber from an officer of the telecommunication offices on a ticket which, in order to establish the connection, der.Fernbeamtin is passed. On the basis of the written information (, 'a ben, this connection is made by hand in various ways, depending on the means available.
The ticket is described according to the duration of the call and is passed on to the central telephone office for settlement.
By means of the present invention, a substantial simplification of the remote exchange service can be brought about if the method forming the subject of the invention is used to set up the remote connection. Then any call or election activity of the civil servant can be omitted. As a result, traffic is handled much faster and the long-distance lines can be better used.
In the present method, sheet-like registration elements are used to establish the connection, which can be of different types, but which are designed according to the connection to be made. These registration elements are brought to cooperate with scanning devices, which react according to the respective shape of these registration elements. For example, punch cards, running paper strips, celluloid or light metal sheets can be used as registration elements.
It is irrelevant to the invention whether the registration elements are perforated, embossed or cut on the edge.
In the simplest, in the following as an example chosen case of punched cards, the registration officer can be equipped with a hand punch of known construction. She then carries out the perforation during or after the registration. It is more advantageous to let the participant register the perforation directly by means of an automatic perforation device.
A device according to the invention has a contact device which scans the registrations and controls means which trigger the processes associated with the design of the registration elements in order to establish the desired connection. The means controlled by the contact devices can be selectors, switches, devices for the delivery of current surges, or those for the delivery of signals, for example sounds or signs, for example to cause the officer to carry out the necessary switching.
In the device according to the invention, the reading of the information contained on the registration elements is accomplished by a Kontaktvor direction, which scans the regi strations and controls the means which, for example, the delivery of the pulses, signals, etc. cause.
In the accompanying drawing, two exemplary embodiments of devices are shown which allow a method according to the invention to be carried out.
Fig. 1 shows schematically a contact device for scanning punch cards; Fig. 2 is a section along the line II-II of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a section of a hole card in which the number 582 is punched out; Fig. 4 shows a circuit diagram for a telephone system with means for the pulse delivery in the automatic selection of the local participant, and Fig. 5 shows such a device for converting the perforations into speech sounds.
The contact or scanning device (FIG. 1) has a massive contact roller KW, which lies over the contacts of the grippers 0 to 9 that work together with it. Between the roller and these grabs from the punch card LK comes to lie, in such a way that their rows of numbers match the relevant contacts. Each gripper consists of a firmly attached sleeve h and a resiliently mounted ball k inside, which has the aim of always laying on the contact roller KW.
However, it is prevented from doing this by the punch card LK, unless there is a hole in the same at the point in question. If this is the case, a contact is made between the specific taps and the roller via the ball k. In the example shown, such a contact closure is shown above the gripper 5, which contact closure thus corresponds, for example, to the first digit of the number 582 punched out in the punch card LK (FIG. 3), which would be transferred for example.
In the scheme of FIG. 4, only one contact LKk of the contact device is Darge provides. This corresponds to the number 5 here and the other contacts on both sides are to be thought of according to the other numbers. The contact device is also assigned an indexing magnet F1Vlr, which, as will be explained further below, advances the punched card by one step after each contact closure.
A long-distance line is connected to terminals <I> a </I> and <I> b </I> and a connecting cable is connected to terminals <I> a '</I> and <I> b' </I> to a local office through which the participants can be reached. With the dotted points in the leads from the terminals a, b the lines, the not dargestell th selectors, plugs, pairs of cords, etc., the interrogation set and the like should be indicated. A choke coil Dr with an associated contact is connected between a and b.
Let it be assumed that the punch card has been inserted into the scanning device and that the contact of the fifth tap is closed according to the first digit of the desired subscriber with the number 582.
To initiate the dialing process, the WT selector key is first pressed, which causes the circuit to switch off the delay relay U.
-, relay <I> U, </I> contact from WT, -I-. Via its contact .4, U closes the circuit of relay T: -, relay <I> T, </I> contact 4 of <I> U, </I> contact of TVT, +.
The contacts 2 and 6 of the relay L "also close the line going from the remote office to the local office briefly via the following circuit: a ', contact 2 of U, 4 of J, 6 of U, b'. Contacts 2 and 6 from relay T further disconnect the long-distance lines and contact 4 from relay T closes the following circuit for the rotary magnet <I> DM </I> of the search selector 4W, as well as for relay J: <I> -, DM </I> from JW, contact 4 from <I> I, </I> relay J, contact 4 from T, iStromstosspendel STP, -f-.
The current surge pendulum STP is actuated and short-circuits its own winding with its contact, whereby relay J and rotary magnet <I> DM </I> receive enough current from selector JW to attract their armature. The voter JTV thus takes a step and switches to the first contact. Relay J opens, among other things, its contact 4, whereby a current pulse is sent to the local office for setting the voters. Impulse generator STP has thus short-circuited itself and drops out again, whereby its winding again comes to lie in series with relay J and magnet <I> DM </I>.
Relay J and magnet <I> DM </I> thus drop their armature again and contact 4 of relay J short-circuits the line to the local authority again. Now, however, the current surge pendulum STP is activated again immediately and relay J and magnet <I> DM </I> of selector JW attract their armature again. The STP then drops off again, etc.
This game is repeated until the selector JW has reached the fifth contact, whereupon the following circuit for relay P is closed: +, punch card contact LKIc, contact. 5 and a-arm from JW, relay P, -.
Relay P is activated and closes the following holding circuit for itself: -, Relay P, contact 6 of P, fifth contact and b-arm of JW, +.
After relay J has dropped out again, contact 2 of relay P switches on relay 1 via the following current flow: -, relay <I> I, </I> contact 3 of <I> J </I> and 2 of P '+ .
Relay I stops itself, regardless of contact 3 of relay J, via a contact 3. Contact 2 of relay 1 short-circuits contact 4 of relay J, so that no further pulses are sent into the line. Contact 4 of relay <I> I </I> has opened the circuit of relay <I> J </I> and magnet <I> DM </I> of selector JW, but this contact is already by means of contact 4 has been bridged by relay P. As a result, the STP pulse generator continues to work; Relay J and magnet Dlbl are energized in a pulsed manner, but no further pulses are sent into the line.
According to the five sent out impulses, the voter in question is set in the local office and after the voter JW has reached step 0, his arms return to the starting position in the next step. After this, the shaft contact w of the selector remains closed and relays <I> U </I> and <I> T </I> therefore continue to operate.
In the starting position of the selector, however, the following circuit for the stepping magnet FM of the scanning device is now closed: -, stepping magnet FM, contact 6 of I, starting position contact and b-arm of JW, +.
The indexing magnet FM causes the card to be shifted by a certain amount (step) so that the next line of numbers with the following hole gets under the gripping device. The tapping contact 5 is now opened and the tapping contact 8 is closed here.
In the starting position, however, the holding circuit for relay P has been interrupted; Relay P therefore drops out, and opens with his contact 4 the circuit for relay J respectively. Magnet DM for a moment, until relay I also dropped out with a delay due to the opening of contact 2 of relay P,
whereupon with contact 6 of relay I, the switching magnet FM is released again and with contact 4 of relay I, the switching circuit for relay J and magnet DM is closed again by selector JW.
The voter JW switches itself on like that via its contacts and accordingly sends eight pulses, namely until the eighth contact causes the relay P and I to be excited in the manner described above. His arms a and b come back to the starting position here. The switching magnet is again excited, the card is switched one step forward so that the eighth tapping contact is opened and the second is closed.
The voter now switches on via the contacts and causes two impulses to be sent out in the same way.
In the local office, the voters are now set to select the number 582. The voter JW now switches on until his a- and b-arms reach the starting position again. At this moment the contact w is opened. Relay T is de-energized immediately, whereby the continuation sehaltestromkreis for voters JW is finally interrupted. Contacts 2 and 6 of. Relays T cause the long-distance line to be reconnected.
Relay U also drops, but with a little delay, so that its contacts 2 and 6 delayed the short circuit of the line via contacts 2 of relay I respectively. 4 of relay J switch off. After the selected subscriber answers, he is connected to the trunk line and, if the connection is established there, to the remote subscriber. After the connection is terminated, the described facility is free to set up new assignments.
It is of course possible to switch off the described device for the automatic selection of connections after a connection has been established and to use it again immediately for the selection of new connections on other lines. The device is then jointly assigned to a plurality of lines, and then, for example, known means are provided in order to connect them to a line on which a stimulus is located.
The establishment of the connection with the remote subscriber can also be carried out using the device described. The choice can also be made with alternating current instead of direct current. Instead of many pulses of the same length, a few long and short pulses can also be used for selection based on the model in telegraphy.
It is now in telephone systems, due to the large distances, the equipment of the long-distance offices, etc. not always easily possible to select the remote subscriber directly by sending dial pulses.
However, the punch card can then also be used to simplify long-distance traffic by combining the scanning device with a phonetic reproduction apparatus so that the desired number of the subscriber is transmitted in spoken sounds. The officer hears the desired number and can now establish the connection with a rotary dial or plug.
The naming of the ordered connection can be repeated at any time. Reintroduction of the garden in the scanning device can be accomplished.
In Fig. 5 a device is shown, with which conditions using punch cards and controlled by their Lochun, the marked number can be translated into spoken numbers.
The contacts Kg to Kg are formed here by those (0 to 9 in FIG. 1) of the scanning device described above. In the remote office, a transmitter Ü is switched on on the trunk line <I> a, b </I>. The long-distance line is connected by means not presented here and via facilities such as voters, plugs or the like with the desired participant of the local office.
If, for example, the number 582 according to the punched card excerpt from FIG. 3 is to be sent out, the card is brought under the scanning device by means not shown here in such a way that the line on which the first number (i.e. here 5) lies between the contacts and the roller comes to rest. In the winding <I> WO </I>, for example, electrical currents are generated which undergo such a change that the word 0 is reproduced in a connected receiver, not shown.
The same applies to the other windings W 'to W9, in each of which currents are generated which bring the number keepers 1 to 9 to the receiver for reproduction. The individual words are always generated simultaneously when the roller is turned; however, they are tapped one at a time due to the successive contact closings.
For the reproduction of the word 5, contact K5 and thus the following circuit is now closed via the punch card: winding Ws to generate the word .5, contact K5, carrier Ü, winding Ws.
The relevant currents are sent into the long-distance line via the transmitter Ü and can thus be heard in the remote office. After word 5 has been reproduced once, the contact x is closed and causes the switching magnet FM of the scanning device to be excited. This moves the punch card one step further. The contact 8 is now closed and the word for the number 8 is sent in a corresponding manner in the long-distance line. After releasing the same, the contact x is closed again and then the word 2 is sent into the line.
Thus the number 582 has been given by successive submission of the words for the number 5, 8 and 2 and the remote control is able to establish the connection.
Instead of using the tapping contacts directly to send out the number in question, you can first use them to set dialers or relays which only require the output of the sounds.
The second device with phonetic reproduction is particularly suitable for semi-automatic operation. The first, on the other hand, can play a decisive role in the fully automatic establishment of the connection.
In the latter case, it is irrelevant whether the connection is made via a dialer of one's own or with the interposition of a remote or remote. Connection line, via dialers from other offices, as a result of the emission of a series of pulses or according to the call seeker principle. To set up a complete connection, the two methods can also be combined, for example by selecting the trunk line over which the connection in question is to be issued according to the call searcher principle, with the voters concerned running until they reach the desired trunk lines.
If this is done, then, influenced by the perforations for the number of the distant participant, impulses or. Sent series of impulses, which cause the attitude of the voters in the distant office.
In the example discussed above, punch cards are always provided and the scanning device is designed accordingly. It is clear, however, that if one punches or stamps tongues or elevations in the registration element, for example, the grippers must be designed accordingly. The changes in the construction of the apparatus always result from the form of the entries.
Even if the latter are attached in the form of cutouts at the edges of the garden, the design of the grippers in the form of contacts springing into the cutouts is readily given and belongs within the scope of the present invention.
The various registration elements do not need to be independent of one another, but they can also be connected and used, for example, in the form of bands.
