A capacitor consisting of several individual capacitors connected in series, in particular a high-voltage capacitor. In the manufacture of capacitors for high operating voltages, it often offers manufacturing advantages to subdivide the dielectric required for insulating control of this voltage in such a way that several individual capacitors are connected in series, which then only account for a corresponding part of the total voltage , makes.
In many cases, flat-shaped elements stacked on top of one another were used as individual capacitors and the individual elements had to be isolated from one another for the corresponding partial voltage and from the protective housing for the full voltage. Accordingly, the bushing insulators had to be dimensioned for the full total voltage here too,
which could often only be achieved at relatively high costs. Further difficulties were caused by a space-saving arrangement of the individual capacitors, taking into account sufficient insulation of the connecting lines between the elements and the connection terminals on the one hand and the housing or the supporting structure of the elements on the other.
With the new capacitor, these difficulties are avoided in that, according to the invention, several capacitor windings with covering edges protruding at their end faces are lined up on an insulating support body in such a way that the capacitor windings lie against one another with their end faces.
In the drawing, an execution example of the new capacitor is shown. Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the condenser along the line A-B in Fig. 2; in Fig. 2 is a plan view of the capacitor is shown. In the exemplary embodiment Darge presented capacitor three series-connected capacitor winding a are provided, the type of which is known per se.
The metal coverings of the capacitor winding a protrude from the end faces of the winding in such a way that the coverings of one polarity only protrude on one side of the capacitor winding and the coverings of the other polarity on the other end face. With capacitor windings designed in this way, it is possible to make the electrical connections of the windings at their end faces.
The windings a are produced by winding the alternately superimposed insulating and metallic strips onto a cylindrical hollow body b, which serves as the winding core. After the winding a are made individually, who they lined up on a tube c made of insulating material.
While only three winding are used in the exemplary embodiment, more or less winding can easily be lined up on a Tragkör made of insulating material. The covering edges of the adjacent coils protruding beyond the insulating material touch each other and cause the coils to be electrically connected in series without the use of special connecting cables:
To improve and secure the contact contacts, thin metal plates d, roughened on both sides or provided with projections, are expediently placed between the touching foil edges, the projections or prongs pressing into the protruding edges. The lined-up capacitor windings are pressed together via two strong metallic pressure plates e, which are connected to the insulating support body c by screw bolts f.
The introduction of the screw bolts zen f into the insulating axis c takes place at the two ends of the axis in corresponding, threaded holes provided with holes. The cylindrical capacitor consisting of three individual capacitors is thus pressed together by the screw bolts f, the insulating axis c being subjected to tensile stress. To protect the capacitor, an insulating material housing g is used, which is also cylindrical and the end faces of which are closed off by a sealing cover h made of insulating material.
The screw bolts f penetrate the closure cover h and are designed as electrical connections for the capacitor at their ends located outside the capacitor housing. The space remaining between the capacitor column and the insulating material cylinder g arranged coaxially to it is expediently filled with insulating compound.
In order to achieve a highly conductive connection between the connecting bolt f and the outer covering edges of the two rolls at the end, metal plates d, as placed between the individual rolls, are expediently seen between the pressure plates e and the covering edges. However, these pressure plates d need here only on the side connected to the lining edges with jumps and before. To be roughened.
The plates d can also be combined with the printing plates e.
