Aschenbecher. Beim Ablegen von Zigaretten, Zigarren usw. auf den Rand der bisher üblichem Aschen becher kommt das Rauchgut wagrecht oder meistens so zu liegen, dass das weiterglim mende Ende tiefer liegt als das Mundende.
Während aber beim Rauchen eine gute Durchlüftung des Rauchgutes für eine weit gehende Verbrennung des Nikotins, Pyridins und der .andern Stoffe sorgt, bewirkt beim Ablegen des Rauchgutes die ungenügende Durchlüftung, dass das Rauchgut nur schwach weiterglimmt und die Glimmwärme das Ni kotin usw. lediglich vor sich hertreibt.
Auf der Zeichnung ist in Fig. I ein Schnitt durch einen Aschenbecher bisher üblicher Form schematisch dargestellt. Auf dem Rande des Aschenbechers ist eine Zigarette abgelegt, deren glimmendes Ende a' also tiefer liegt als das Mundende b'.
Am glimmenden Ende verflüchtigt die Wärme das Nikotin usw. In dieser Form steigen die Produkte zum ansehnlichen Teil schräg aufwärts (in Richtung des Pfeils) wei ter in die Zigarette hinein. Der mit b' bezeich- nete Abschnitt der Zigarette ist schon bedeu tend kühler, so dass das diesen Abschnitt durchströmende Nikotin usw. schon zum Teil kondensiert und abgefangen wird. Die Kon densation ist oft augenscheinlich, indem das Papier im Abschnitt b' feucht wird. Das Mundende c' besitzt als feuchter, luftumspülter Abschnitt der Zigarette eine deutlich tiefere Temperatur; demnach wird hier (ausgespro chen am schädlichsten Ort, dem Mundende) das bisher noch nicht wieder abgefangene Nikotin usw. kondensiert, abgefangen und angereichert.
Es ergibt sich also hieraus, dass eine in dieser Schräglage abgelegte Zigarette (Fig. I) vom gesundheitlichen Standpunkt des Rauchers aus, die denkbar ungünstigsten Ver hältnisse vereinigt.
Diese Übelstände werden dadurch behoben, dass gemäss vorliegender Erfindung ein Aschen becher geschaffen wird, bei dem das abge legte Rauchgut so zu liegen kommt, dass das weiterglimmende Ende desselben höher liegt als das Mundende. Bei dieser Lage des Rauch gutes können die durch das Weiterglimmen verflüchtigten Stoffe (Nikotin usw.) nicht schräg aufwärts in das Rauchgut hineindringen und sich innerhalb desselben wieder nieder schlagen, sondern sie steigen ausserhalb des Rauchgutes in die Höhe. Die hygienischen Vorteile dieser Schräglage sind augenschein lich.
Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht in den Fig. II und HI ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Er findungsgegenstandes im Schnitt und in Drauf sicht.
Der innere Aschenbehälter b weist einen von innnen nach aussen abfallenden Ablege rand ca auf. Derselbe besitzt ebenso geneigte Einbuchtungen d zum Ablegen der Zigaretten. Diese Einbuchtungen können aufgerauht oder durchlöchert sein. Der Boden c des Aschen bechers ist am äussern Rand etwas aufwärts gebogen. Dieser Boden ragt nach aussen ge nügend weiter hinaus als der äussere Rand des Flansches a, so dass sich selbst über lassene Zigaretten, beziehungsweise deren ver bleibende glimmende Enden, beim Abfallen auf den Boden c herabfallen und nicht ausser halb des Aschenbechers herausfallen können und dort Beschädigungen verursachen.
Der Aschenbecher ist durch Pressen und Ziehen aus einem entsprechenden Metallblech hergestellt gedacht. Hingegen könnte bei gleicher Formgebung auch ein anderes Ma terial oder eine andere Verarbeitung vorge sehen sein.
Ashtray. When placing cigarettes, cigars, etc. on the edge of the previously usual ashtray, the smoking material comes to lie horizontally or usually so that the end that continues to glow is lower than the end of the mouth.
While good ventilation of the smoke material ensures extensive combustion of the nicotine, pyridine and other substances when smoking, the insufficient ventilation when the smoke material is put down causes the smoke material to continue to glow slightly and the glowing heat only pre-empts the nicotine etc. hangs around.
In the drawing, a section through an ashtray of the previously usual form is shown schematically in FIG. A cigarette is placed on the edge of the ashtray, the smoldering end a 'of which is lower than the end of the mouth b'.
At the smoldering end, the heat evaporates the nicotine, etc. In this form, the considerable part of the products rise diagonally upwards (in the direction of the arrow) further into the cigarette. The section of the cigarette labeled b 'is already significantly cooler, so that the nicotine etc. flowing through this section is already partly condensed and captured. The condensation is often evident as the paper becomes damp in section b '. The mouth end c ', as a moist, air-bathed section of the cigarette, has a significantly lower temperature; accordingly, here (pronounced at the most damaging place, the end of the mouth) the nicotine etc. that has not yet been captured is condensed, captured and enriched.
It follows from this that a cigarette placed in this inclined position (FIG. I) combines the most unfavorable conditions imaginable from the health point of view of the smoker.
These inconveniences are remedied in that, according to the present invention, an ashtray is created in which the smoked material is placed so that the smoldering end of the same is higher than the end of the mouth. With the smoke in this position, the substances (nicotine, etc.) that have evaporated due to the continued smoldering cannot penetrate upwards at an angle into the smoke and are reflected again within it, but rather rise outside the smoke. The hygienic advantages of this inclined position are obvious.
The drawing illustrates in FIGS. II and HI an embodiment of the subject of the invention in section and in plan view.
The inner ash container b has a depositing edge ca sloping from the inside to the outside. It also has inclined indentations d for depositing the cigarettes. These indentations can be roughened or perforated. The bottom c of the ashtray is slightly curved upwards at the outer edge. This bottom protrudes outward enough further than the outer edge of the flange a, so that even cigarettes that have been left, or their remaining smoldering ends, fall down on the floor c when they fall and cannot fall out of the ashtray and cause damage there cause.
The ashtray is intended to be made from a suitable sheet metal by pressing and pulling. On the other hand, a different material or a different processing could also be provided with the same shape.
