FiZ-F' Fitgy#i=htg#ri und F2 <I>Z F"</I> F2 tg #C2 = h. tg 5o2 wenn cpl bezw.
F2 Ai. Wählt man zweckmässig die Messzeit T=100 Sek.
und trägt sich auf dieser Luftfahrzeugachse die in dieser Messzeit in windfreier Luft durchflogene Strecke Fi Ai als hundertfache Eigengeschwindigkeit auf, so ergibt die Strecke<I>Al</I> F2 <I>= T</I> # <I>c</I> die in der Messzeit Tvom Wind zurückgelegte Strecke als hundertfache Windgeschwindigkeit c und der Winkel ss <I>=</I> Fi <I>Al</I> F2 als Seitenwinkel des Windes gegen die Achse des Luftfahrzeuges,
während die Strecke Fi F2 <I>= T - v</I> als hun dertfache Fahrtgeschwindigkeit erscheint.
Device for determining the visibility and heading of aircraft and moving targets. The object of the invention is a device which allows the rapid mechanical determination of the speed and direction of travel of the aircraft, which is necessary for the navigation of the aircraft.
The device according to the invention has a sighting device which, with a known height of the aircraft above the respective target point, determines the horizontal distance and the horizontal angle from the aircraft axis of a stationary auxiliary target or moving target located in the field or on the measuring surface both at the beginning, as well as at the end of a certain measurement period, and a double triangular resolver, whose elements, which are provided with length and angle divisions, are set according to the determinations of the sighting device,
Have the desired speed and course direction read off immediately.
The drawing shows an example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely Fig. 1 shows the geometric basis of the direction and speed measurement of the aircraft and the wind, Fig. 2 shows the geometric basis of the direction and speed measurement of a straight line, horizontal and uniform moving target for the purpose of determining the torpedo elements, Fig. 3 Top view of a mechanical double triangle resolver, Fig. 4 is a side view, partly in section,
of the optical sighting device for determining the direction and distance of a target from the aircraft flying at a known altitude above the latter, and Fig. 5 shows a plan view of the sighting device with the device for determining the torpedoing lead angle.
In Fig. 1 let A be the base of the aircraft at the beginning and b'2 at the end of the 11Iessens, FiAi resp. Let F2rfa be the longitudinal axis of the aircraft against which the route F1.F2 flown includes the course angle K as a result of the cross wind. Z is an auxiliary target resting on the surface of the earth or the sea.
If one thinks of the two by the aircraft, whose base point and auxiliary target are formed triangles <I> F '</I> F1 <I> Z </I> and <I> F "</I> F2 <I> Z < / I> shifted, the horizontal auxiliary target distances result at the beginning and end of the measurement time,
FiZ-F 'Fitgy # i = htg # ri and F2 <I> Z F "</I> F2 tg # C2 = h. Tg 5o2 if cpl and 92 are the angle of the auxiliary target from the vertical.
Furthermore, he give the side angles at and a2 of the auxiliary target against the aircraft axis FI Ai respectively. F2 Ai. If you choose the measuring time T = 100 sec.
and if the distance Fi Ai flown through in wind-free air during this measurement time is shown on this aircraft axis as one hundred times the vehicle's own speed, then the distance <I> Al </I> F2 <I> = T </I> # <I> c <results / I> the distance covered in the measurement time Tvom wind as a hundred times the wind speed c and the angle ss <I> = </I> Fi <I> Al </I> F2 as the side angle of the wind against the axis of the aircraft,
while the distance Fi F2 <I> = T - v </I> appears as one hundred times the travel speed.
The elements v, .ZZ, c, d that are absolutely necessary for the navigation of the aircraft can be determined by the mechanical double triangle resolver according to Fig. 3 without arithmetic operations if the horizontal distances Fi <I> Z </I> and F2 Z, and the Horizon talwinkel ai and a2 of the auxiliary target are known at the beginning and at the end of the measurement time.
This double triangular resolver consists of a ruler 24, which represents the axis of the aircraft Fi li and is provided with longitudinal graduation (airspeed scale), to which a pin Fi representing the base of the aircraft and a horizontal angle disk 25 is attached. The ruler 26 equipped with a horizontal distance division is rotatably mounted around this pin and can be clamped in the set position by a wing nut 2511.
The rulers 26 and 24 each carry a slide 27 or slide provided with a setting mark. 30, respectively by a clamping screw 27a. 30a can be clamped in the set position.
On each of these two slides, a horizontal angle disc 28 is respectively. 31 and a pin Z respectively. A fastened, on which a graduated ruler 29 and 32 is rotatably mounted and by means of a wing nut 2811 respectively. 31a can be clamped against the partial disk lying over the bar.
The ruler 29 provided with a horizontal distance division carries a clampable slide 33 equipped with a setting mark F2. A further ruler 34 is rotatably mounted on the pin Fi, which like the ruler 32 has a speed scale and is independent of the ruler 26 can be set against the graduated disk 25 and clamped by an underlying wing nut 25b.
This device is used in such a way that the Eigenge speed of the vehicle is set on the ruler 24 by means of the setting mark of the slide 30 and the disc is clamped onto it, whereupon the ruler 26 by means of the pin in the middle of Fi and Z is aimed Measuring edge is set to the horizontal angle ai on the angle scale 25 and clamped.
Now its slide 27 is set to the horizontal distance F, Z by means of its setting mark and clamped, while the ruler 29 is set to the difference a2-al of the two Hdrizontal angles a2 and ai on the angular scale 28 by means of its measuring edge aimed through the pin in the center of Z. and is clamped. .
Now you set the mark of the slide 33 to the measured horizontal distance ZF2 and you can set both the measuring edge of the line 34, as well as that of the ruler 32 on the marked point F2, whereby on the one hand the actual speed v of the aircraft (on 34), as well as that of the wind (on 32), but at the same time also the course angle K, as well as the side angle of the wind a.
However, in order to determine the horizontal distances F, Z and F2 Z, as well as the horizontal angles of the auxiliary target in relation to the axis of the aircraft with a known height la of the latter above the former; It is advisable to use a sighting device which, by simply activating the target, shows the horizontal distance .FZ as the product of the height and the tangent of the position angle 9 of the auxiliary target against the vertical without a calculation operation, i.e. as with a slide rule by lo garithmic multiplication.
This instrument consists, as shown in Fig. 4 and 5, from the telescopic tube housing 2 rotatably mounted about a vertical axis g in a Ausobrung of the horizontally adjustable, that is, horizontally adjustable by dragonfly, the telescope housing 2 with the horizontal pitch circle 2 ,, is equipped, which is used to read the horizontal angle at, a2 of the targeted auxiliary target by means of a pointer 1n on the base plate.
In this telescopic tube housing, the entry reflector 4 rotatably mounted around a horizontal pair of trunnions 3 - 3 'is installed, which reflects the parallel beams entering obliquely from below into the pentaprism 5, which deflects them vertically upwards, around them by means of the lens 6 in it To unite focal plane B to the target image.
For the purpose of more exact compliance with the objective axis in the perpendicular th a simultaneously acting as a collective focus vial 7 is provided in the focal plane, the bubble of which is seen together with the target image in the eyepiece 8 confocal to the objective. The socket of the entrance reflector 4 is firmly connected to a spur gear segment 9 in which a second toothed segment 11, rotatably mounted around an axis 10 parallel to the trunnion axis 3 - 3 ', engages, the pitch circle radius of which is half as large as that of the toothed segment 9.
This tooth segment 11 is firmly connected to the cam 12, which is coupled in a known manner by two very thin, juxtaposed steel strips 13, 14 with a second cam 15 that they also this latter, in the opposite direction, along one Part of their scope to span.
The cam disk 15, the angle of rotation of which corresponds to the natural logarithm of the tangent of the angle of rotation of the counter disk 12, is seated on a shaft 16 rotatably mounted in the telescope housing parallel to the axis 10 and, by means of the grip disk 17 sitting on the latter, which is shown with the pointer 18 is firmly connected, to be twisted. A dial 19 is loosely seated on the shaft 16, the circumference of which is provided with a spur gear toothing, in which a small drive wheel 20 engages, which rests on a shaft 22 which is rotatably mounted in the telescope housing parallel to the shaft 16 and provided with the grip disk 21.
The handling of this optical device takes place in such a way that by turning the grip disk 21 the known altitude above the auxiliary target is set by means of the height pointer 23 attached to the housing on the logarithmic circular graduation of the dial disk 19 and then by turning the central grip disk 17 in the eyepiece appearing auxiliary target is set sharply on the bubble of the focus vial 7, whereupon the horizontal auxiliary target distance .h'i Z at the beginning, respectively. F2 Z at the end of the measuring time of 100 seconds.
on the logarithmic division by reading by means of the handle disk 17 firmly connected pointer 18 he gives. At the same time the horizontal angle a1 results at the beginning, respectively. a2 at the end of the measuring time of the navigated auxiliary target Z against the axis of the aircraft by reading the horizontal angle scale 2a by means of the pointer 1n, whereby all four elements to be transferred to the double triangular resolver according to Fig. 3 are determined.
These devices shown in Fig. 3-5 can also be used to determine the lead angle of torpedoes that are to be released from the aircraft against a ship moving in a straight line at constant speed at known flight and torpedo speeds.
For this purpose, the speed and course direction ss of the ship was determined first, which covered the distance Zi Z2 = u <I> T </I> during the measurement period.
According to the geometrical basis shown in Fig. 2, both the horizontal target distances AZ and F2 are calculated by means of the sighting device shown in Figs. 4 and 5 at the beginning and at the end of a certain measuring period expediently selected to be <B> 100 </B> seconds Z.- "and the side angle a = lind cti of the target in the manner described above.
Mau first transfers these four elements to the double triangle resolver in such a way that the ruler 26 is set and clamped against the ruler 24 lying in the direction of flight at the angle ai on the graduated disk 25 and the mark of the slide 27 is set to the horizontal target distance I'i Zi is placed, what on the ruler 29 after the angle a., - a, is determined on the partial disk 28, while its slide 33 is set with its mark on the horizontal target distance F2 Z.
If the ruler 34 is now placed against this sliding mark, the distance F, .A read on it is equal to the change in distance occurring in the measurement period <I> T </I>, i.e. at T = 100 seconds it is equal to a hundred times the relay tive speed.
If you set the mark of the slide 30 to the hundredfold Flugge speed and place the ruler 32 on the point 172 shown by the mark of the slide 30, the course angle K of the ship against the aircraft axis on the indexing disk 31 results while the reading on the ruler 32 is one hundred times the speed c of the ship.
However, this also means that the most favorable torpedo reserve wiiikel v is determined for vertical impact of the torpedo, since it results in a given torpedo speed
EMI0004.0030
If you put a speed-grading line 35 (Fig. 5) into the aircraft axis, which is attached to the base plate 1 of the optical sighting device, and place a clampable slide 36 on it, which is marked with a setting mark E and a horizontal,
is provided with a speed division perpendicular to the displacement direction arm 37, which also carries a clampable slide 38 equipped with setting mark Fi and clamping screw 40, so the optical sighting instrument can be immediately on the advance angle v by placing a on its azimuthal rotatable housing 2 attached,
by pulling the center of rotation and lying in the vertical plane of the sight edge of the bar 39 against the graduation marked by .E and clamp it tightly with the clamping screw 40 after the slider 36 on the ruler 35 to the torpedo speed and has set the slide 38 on the ruler 37 to the target speed 2i and clamped it.
Before aiming at the target again with the aiming device set at the angle of advance against the aircraft axis, the course of the aircraft must be changed by an angle of 90-6 in order to lower the torpedo at the moment when the target appears in Zs to be hit vertically in Z4. As he can see, the ruler 34 can also be omitted; if the device is only intended to determine the lead angle for torpedoes.
