Discharge tube with a resiliently supported hot cathode, which contains a plurality of sections connected in parallel. The invention relates to a discharge tube, whose glow cathode is resiliently supported and has a plurality of sections connected in parallel.
In a conventional design, the parallel sections of the filament are connected to conductors which are perpendicular to their longitudinal direction and which in turn are resiliently supported. In such an arrangement, in which the filament sections are stretched parallel between rigid Qtier #; tabeii, there is a risk of warping when heated, since the filament sections always expand somewhat unevenly. The filament can then come into contact with the grid.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided in that the conductor ', which provides the electrical connection between all the glow wire sections, is removed from the point at which the glow wire sections are attached to the springs. The glow wire sections can now be independent of one another expand, while they always remain in the tensioned state and thus do not come into contact with the grid.
The springs can be attached to a support wire which simultaneously establishes the electrical connection between all of the glow wire sections.
In a favorable exemplary embodiment, the springs are bent over a metal rod at the end facing away from the glow wire, and their ends are connected to it. In this case, the fastening can take place with the aid of a metal strip which runs in the longitudinal direction of the support wire and is welded to both the support wire and the ends of the springs.
In another embodiment, the springs are bent at the end facing away from the filament over a rod made of insulating material, to which they are attached by melting, while they are sharply bent at the point of melting, and again protrude from the insulating rod step out and a metal strip connects these ends protruding from the stick.
In the latter case, the resilient arrangement of the filament sections is made completely independent of the short circuit. The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. FIG. 1 shows a diagrammatic view of a lamp base with electrodes arranged on it, while the anode has been omitted for the sake of clarity.
2 shows diagrammatically, on an enlarged scale, the springs themselves; Fig. 3 is a cross section for this; FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of another embodiment of the spring arrangement, and FIG. 5 is a cross-section through the last-mentioned embodiment.
In FIG. 1, the holder wires 8 for the anode and two holder wires 4 for the grid 5 are visible on the lamp base 2.
The support wire <B> 7 </B> for the springs <B> 8 </B> is carried from the holding wires <B> 3 </B> through the intermediary of the glass beads <B> 6 </B>. The glow wire <B> 9 </B> is suspended from the ends of the springs <B> 8 </B>. The filament consists of eight sections connected in parallel by four, while these two groups of four are connected in series. The filament sections are held at the lower end by retainer wires, three of which are provided for the forward group and three for the reverse group.
The holder wires <B> 10 </B> are short-circuited by three conductors <B> 11 </B>, and in each group one of the holder wires is connected to a supply conductor 12.
The springs <B> 8 </B> can be made of molybdenum steel. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the conductor 7 provides the electrical connection between the glow wire sections, that is, both the aforementioned parallel -, as well as the series connection. From Fig. 2 and <B> 3 </B> it can be seen that the springs <B> 8 </B> are bent around the cylindrical conductor <B> 7 </B> at the rear end and then the outer ends with it Are secured to it with the help of a metal strip <B> 13 </B>.
In the embodiment of Figures 4 and 5, the springs are similarly wrapped around an insulating rod 14, e.g. made of glass, bent around, in the bottom of which they are melted. A short-closing metal strip <B> 15 </B> is attached to the ends of the springs protruding from the glass rod. Since the welding points are at some distance from the glass rod, the risk of this rod cracking during welding is avoided.
It will be understood that the same spring arrangement could be used at the lower end of the filament. In this case, the (-f'liihdrabtabschnitte could be connected directly to the short-circuiting conductor at the top end.
Although in the drawing only Ausfüh approximate forms are shown, in which the springs are bent from the attachment point by a certain amount over the circumference of the carrier, the described way of parallel circuit is on all types of springs the supports, algo also on those applicable bar , in which the springs are melted directly in glass or attached to a metal carrier.
