Method and device for improving the gasification and combustion of fuels by mixing them with water vapor. The invention relates to a process and a device for improving the gasification and combustion of fuels by mixing the same with water vapor.
The inventive method consists in the fact that in the normal operating state of the internal combustion engine, water vapor is fed to the carburetor in order to promote the gasification through the generated temperature increase in the carburetor, where the water vapor mixes intimately with the gases produced from the fuel and thereby the Promotes decomposition and combustion of the fuel.
The device for carrying out the method consists of at least one shut-off device for the water supply, a device for evaporation of the water and a control device for the steam inlet kn into the gasifier.
The drawing shows an embodiment example of the device for carrying out the method, namely FIG. 1 shows a view of the same partially in section, and FIG. 2 shows the carburettor in section on a larger scale.
The water to be evaporated enters a container (not shown in the drawing) through the feed line 1 into which the shut-off shut-off device for the water inflow is formed by the needle valve 3, </ B> which protrudes downward from the valve housing 2, has a slot 5 and a roller and by cutting a wedge 6 over a linkage 24 connected to it and a Intermediate rod 34 operated simultaneously with the setting of the Ver gasers from the driver's seat and a can be made. A spring 7 ensures that the needle valve 3 is always pushed upwards. The pipe coil 9 is connected to the housing 2 by connecting pieces 8 .
It is closed by a coat 10 . which rests firmly on the exhaust pipe and into which the hot exhaust gases from the engine 11 enter through an opening 33 . They flow through it and exit it through the pipe 12 in the direction of the arrow. The pipe coil 9 emerges from the jacket at 13 and closes the second control element for the steam inlet on the connection 14 of the housing 15 in the needle valve 17 forming the carburetor.
The outlet opening -26 of this housing 15 is regulated by the needle valve 17 and opens into the air inlet connection of the carburetor 16 . The steam developed in the pipe coil 9 by the exhaust gases thus flows out of the coil into the needle valve housing 15 and through its outlet pipe 26 </ B > Into the conduit, where it mixes with the air entering in the direction of the arrows 25.
The sliding needle valve 17 mounted in this housing allows the amount of steam flowing to your carburetor 16 to be precisely monitored and regulated. A connecting piece 18 is also attached to the housing 15 , to which the line 19 is closed with a water pocket (not shown). Any excess steam and condensation water can escape through this line. The needle valve 17 emerges on the right-hand side through a stuffing box 20 from the needle housing 15 and is connected in its extension to a double lever 21 whose axis of rotation '22 is mounted in an arm 23 attached to the needle housing.
At the second end of the lever 21, the linkage 24 engages, which also moves the throttle valve 29 of the carburetor and which is connected to the wedge 6. By changing the length of the linkage 24 by adjusting the turnbuckles 31 and 32, the former between the wedge 6 and the carburetor 16 and the latter is already located between the carburettor and the steam inlet valve 1.5 , any setting of the valves 17 and 3 and the throttle valve < B> '29 certain Men-, (,), s.
The fuel enters the carburetor through nozzle 27, where it is heated by the water-vapor-air mixture, where the increase in temperature promotes gasification. The water vapor mixes intimately with the gases resulting from the liquid fuel and thus promotes the breakdown and diffusion of the fuel.
The mixture flows through the opening 28 after the connecting roller 30 with the engine cylinders. Since # needle valve 3 for supplying the water into the pipe coil and the needle valve 17 for regulating the steam supply to the carburetor are both located through the linkage 24, which is fed from the driver's seat through the Connecting rod 34 is moved, in connection with the carburetor 16 and can therefore only be moved and adjusted depending on the carburetor,
whereby the quantities passing through them remain in a ratio that has once been set to one another.
In addition to the exhaust gases from the engine, another heat source, for example an electrical one, can be used to heat the coil.
By adjusting the turnbuckle 31. , the amount of water let through by the needle valve 3 can be adjusted in relation to the amount of fuel let through by the Cylaser. Furthermore, by adjusting the turnbuckle 32, the amount of steam let through by the needle valve 17 can be regulated in relation to the amount of fuel let through by the carburetor in order to be able to increase or decrease the gasification of the fuel.
