Optical device for producing a geometrically uninverted photograph with an automatic or semi-automatic camera. The present invention relates to automatic and semi-automatic cameras of the type which allow an image to be obtained directly on sensitized paper or other similar material and whereby the negative thus formed is transformed into a positive by a process of inversion. In apparatus of this type, the photography obtained is geometrically reversed and the aim of the present invention is to provide a device making it possible to produce a photograph not geometrically inverted with an apparatus of the type indicated above.
The invention consists of an optical device for producing a non-inverted photograph, using an automatic and semi-automatic photographic camera of the type specified above, comprising a right-angle prism disposed in the passage of the rays passing through. a photographic lens and in contact with this lens.
In order for the invention to be fully understood, it will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a side elevation of an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a section along the line As-As of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a plan of the device shown in FIG. 1, and FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the effect of the device according to the invention on an object. With reference to the drawing, a bracket A fixed to a front support A1 of a photographic camera can be adjusted relative to this support by means of wing nuts and threaded rods A2. This console is intended to support a mobile platform B which can move slightly by means of wing nuts and threaded rods Bi.
A right-angled prism C is arranged such on said platform that it is in a position on the direct passage of the rays of an ordinary photographic object E carried in the shutter support F of a camera.
The lens cap G is notched to allow the prism C to come into contact with the front lens of the assembly, in a position H, so as to allow the prism to cover the entire optical center of the lens, thus giving an almost entirely clear image. In this way and by using a large prism, the photograph can be reversed with a very low percentage of light loss.
To prevent the reflected external light from interfering with the action of the prism C, a cover D is arranged and placed so that it protects this prism from this light.
With reference to FIG. 4, the focal axis is represented by the line g Xi. It will be noted that the object to be photographed represented by an arrow X is inverted and inverted by the prism C and brought back to the suitable position by the photographic objective E, so that the final position shows the object correctly placed and not geometrically inverted.
