Transmitter for extremely short Ffertz waves, especially for small ones. transportable stations. With Hertzian oscillatars, the discharge comes through the spark gap between two firmly opposed; electrodes arranged in the focal line of a concave mirror, the charges of which are usually taken from a spark inductor. For small transportable stations, however, it is inconvenient to generate such high voltages as those used for spark transmission.
According to the inven tion you can spare the spark inductor and at the same time bring about a greater operational safety, by the fact that between the two radiators of an open beam circle located in the focal line of a concave mirror (dipole) a mechanical breaker, z.
B. buzzer, Moore's vacuum interrupter, contact disk, contact drum, contact wheel or the like is attached, the two contact electrodes of the interrupter, which are each directly connected to a radiator of the dipole, to different poles of a power source, e.g. a battery. One can get by with a source of relatively low voltage.
The arrangement according to the invention also has the important advantage that the ohmic resistance of the oscillator is extremely low during the closing times of the interrupter due to the galvanic contact, so that the attenuation of the radiator circuit is much less than in the case of the oscillator with discharge via spark gap.
Two embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing.
Here ai, a2 denote the radiators arranged in the focal line of a concave mirror p and fed by a battery b or a dynamo via chokes di, d2. An ohmic resistor w can be provided for further adjustment of the feed circuit. t is a Morse code button, instead of (or in addition to) a microphone can also be provided for telephony purposes.
si and s2 designate the contact electrical of a mechanical breaker that is directly connected to the radiators ai and a2 of the oscillator. When the contact is opened, charging takes place, and when the contact is closed, the oscillating charge balance of the radiators.
It is advisable to use an interrupter whose opening and closing frequency is as high as possible. For example, electromagnetic breakers (buzzers) or vacuum breakers, such as that of Mac Farlan Moore, can be used. You can also make use of roi: ing contactors.
A rotating interrupter is shown in Fig. 2, where a driven by a motor m contact wheel h, the contact electrodes si and s2 connects or separates in rapid succession via its electrically conductive teeth. Of course, the contact wheel can also be designed as a contact disk or contact drum (collector) or in some other similar manner. It is advisable to design the interrupter so that the contact electrodes have one thing in common: they have very little mutual capacitance.
