Method and device for closing filled bags. Filled bags, in particular mechanically filled bags, are closed in such a way that a cardboard disc is placed on the contents in order to form an abutment for turning in the side walls of the bag that form the closure, especially for turning the first side wall, and so on secure sharp edges of the closure surface with the side walls. These cardboard discs increase the price of the packaging and also bring a number of disadvantages for the operation of the filling machine with it.
When inserting the cardboard discs by means of manual labor or mechanical devices, there is always the risk that a cardboard disc jams or kinks when it is inserted into the bag and is thus not in the correct position when the side walls are knocked in to form the closure takes place. In this case, the bag tears or is not closed properly. Under certain circumstances, the operation of the filling machine is even disrupted to such an extent that it has to be switched off. In any case, there is always waste or loss of time when filling and preparing the bags.
The method according to the invention eliminates these disadvantages and makes it possible to securely close a bag in a filling machine without inserting such a cardboard disc.
The method according to the invention be is that the first to be hammered bag wall is held during the wrapping over the contents of the bag by a Haltevor device along the bending line against inward movement, whereupon the remaining Tütenwandun conditions are made.
Devices for carrying out the method of the invention are illustrated in the appending drawings, for example, and it shows: Fig. 1 is a plan view of a filled and still open bag with parts of the filling machine and a first example of the closing device according to the invention, Fig. 2 is a section along the line II-II of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 is a side view of the filled bag after turning the first sides wall, a part of the closing device cut, Fig. 4 is a vertical longitudinal section through the top of the bag Means for hammering in the second side wall,
Fig. 5 is a longitudinal section through the upper part of the bag after the impact of the second side wall, Fig. 6 is a longitudinal section through a filled bag with another embodiment of the closing device.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes a known locking slide which is used to knock in the first side and which is moved back and forth in the direction of arrows A by a rocker 2.
This closing slide is mounted on a slide rail 3 and at the same time makes a lowering movement in the direction of arrow 73 (FIG. 3) while the first side wall of the bag is tucked in. 4 is a guide provided on the filling machine for two folding ears 5 which, after the closing slide 1 has entered the interior of the bag, move inward in the direction of the arrows C and support the folding process. The Füh tion 4 also performs a lifting and lowering movement in the direction of the arrows D at the same time.
When knocking in one of the bag walls is held by a suction piece 6, which is pressed from the outside against the filled bag so that its upper edge essentially intersects with the filling level. The suction piece 6 has a suction slot 7 and is connected via a control member 9 through a hose 8 to a vacuum source not dargestell th. Be using the control member 9, it is possible to only let the negative pressure act for a short time, for example only on the bag wall when the suction piece is in touch tion with the bag wall and the wrapping process is taking place. In this way, relatively little negative pressure is needed for the stated purpose.
The movement of the control element is brought about by any moving part of the filling machine, for example by the lifting and lowering movement of the guide 4 by means of an arm 10 attached to this guide, as will be explained in more detail below.
The suction piece 6 is rotatably supported at 11 GE and is under the action of a spring 12, which tends to press the suction piece against the side wall of the bag from the outside. A lever 13, which has a longer slot 14, is also articulated to the suction piece. A finger 15 of an arm 16 attached to the locking slide 1 engages in this slot.
17 is a U-shaped body made of sheet metal, in which the bag is inserted and in which it then, resting on an adjustable platform 18, carries out the entire process, such as filling, shaking, adjusting the height and the various closing processes . These U-shaped sheet metal bodies are in large numbers in certain Abstän the side by side, for example on rings 19 and bring the bags gradually to the individual stations of the machine.
20 is a closing slide, similar to slide 1, which is intended to cause the second side wall to hit. For this process, a folding tongue 21 is seen before, -which forms the abutment for this folding process. This folding tongue is set up in such a way that it is advanced into the interior of the bag and withdrawn from it again.
For this purpose, it is conveniently connected to any moving member, for example with a rocker arm 22, articulated at 23, which executes Be movements in the direction of arrows E: The operation of the described device according to FIGS. 1 to 5 is as follows: As soon as a fully filled, jolted and adjusted bag has reached the correct height on its way through the machine opposite the closing slide 1, the latter moves forward against the bag, and the spring 12 brings the suction piece 6, which serves as a holding device, to rest on the door wall a ' because in the forward gear of the slide gate 1, the finger 16 has also moved forward.
Before the slide gate 1 hits the wall a of the bag during its forward movement, or at the moment of contact, the guide 4 and thus also the arm 10 has lowered, hits the head of the control element 9 and opens it. As a result, the negative pressure from the negative pressure source takes effect on the slot of the suction piece.
The wall of the bag is pressed firmly against the suction piece, so that the latter holds the bag wall in place along the bending line against inward movement with the further action of the closing slide 1 made possible by the slot 14 and a relatively sharp edge is created . When the closing slide is completely th in the interior of the bag, the folding ears 5 approach from the side and then go with the guide 4 upwards. As a result, the arm 10 is raised and the control member is closed again under the action of a spring.
When the slide lock 1 falls into its outer position, the finger 15 of the arm 16 strikes the outer end of the slot 14 in the lever 13, thereby releasing the suction piece from the side wall of the bag and pulling it back slightly so that the subsequent Gende bag can take its place opposite the locking slide 1 without hindrance.
The bag, the first side of which has been tucked in in the manner described above, is brought in relation to the closing slide 20 during the next switching operation of the device, and by moving the rocking lever 22 the folding tongue 21 is pushed forward to the inside of the wall - of the bag, so that this tongue forms the abutment for turning in the side. After folding in, the folding tongue 21 is pulled back again.
When using the device according to Fig. 6, a bag is closed as follows: In .the filled bag a is from above, that is in the direction of arrow b, the holding device in the form of a counter holder c for the bag wall to be hammered, which punk benefits at d is indicated, introduced to the extent that the sharp edge c 'protruding towards the side of a closing slide h comes to lie a little above the filling plane e.
Shortly before the wrapping process of the bag wall begins, the cregen holder c is pivoted under the action of the spring f in the direction of the arrow g until the edge c 'of the counter-holder comes to rest along the bend line on the bag wall to be wrapped. Now the closing slide la is moved in the direction of the arrow i, which in this case hits the upper part of the bags wall d and thereby kinks the same over the edge c 'of the counter holder.
When the bag wall d has reached the position shown by full lines, the slide valve h hits against a stop c "of the counter-holder and moves back through the counter-holder opposite to the arrow direction g, whereupon the counter-holder is lifted out of the bag. Then the bag wall d is pushed onto the contents by pushing the closing slide further down and at the same time pressing it down. The first bag wall, which is known to be the most difficult to break in, is therefore made using relatively simple and inexpensive means. Breaking in the remaining bag walls happens in a manner known per se and described above.
When using the method of the device according to the invention, it is also possible to knock in the bag wall at a point which is above the filling level, so that a loose pack is created, which is advantageous for some purposes.
