Description

High initial strength cement and process for its. manufacturing. It is known that cement is made with blast furnace slag, called thirds, by mixing this slag with fatty lime, lean lime, or even with hydraulic lime; this is known as "slag cement".

In this cement, the manufacture consists of a mixture and a grinding of slag and lime. The lime, alumina and silica content of the slags thus used does not make it possible to give the manufactured cement normal initial strengths.

The present invention relates to a cement with high initial strength, characterized in that it is formed from a mixture containing at least the following substances:, slag from blast furnaces, lime and bauxite, the latter substance being taken , preferably, in the proportion of 1 to 3 (read total weight.

The lime used can be lime:; 'raSSe oll hydraulic lime. It has been found that the high initial strengths of cements result from the presence of a. greater or lesser amount of alumina and that this alumina can be added cold, without there being any need to subject it to cooking. The cement according to the invention can also be prepared by adding a certain quantity of alumina to a current slag cement, this addition being; made by means of alumina hydrate called bauxite.

Here are, by way of example, two cement compositions according to the invention:

EMI0002.0001

    Artificial <SEP> Portland <SEP> <SEP> 12 <SEP>%
<tb> Bauxite <SEP> 2.
<tb> Gypsum <SEP> 2 You can proceed, for example, as follows:

The slag and lime are passed through a rotary dryer to remove excess water which would prevent normal grinding of the products and would clog the mill. The dried material is brought into a mill with one or more compartments, to which is added: then 1% lumines in the form of bauxite. This alumina being by itself sufficiently dry, does not need to be placed in the dryer. At the same time as the bauxite, the set reggalatrke plaster is also added.

Grinding continues until a normal blend is obtained with the desired degree of fineness.
