Aile d'avion.
-desdits plans est située en arrière -de la projection correspondante du bord,de fuite du plan immédiatement inférieur, la distante entre ces -deux projections étant environ égale à la profondeur,d'un -des plans, Une forme d'exécution de la présente in vention est représentée schématiquement et à titre d'exemple, au dessin ci-annexé, dans lequel: La fig. 1 en est une vue, en élévation, face an bord d'attaque;
Aircraft Wing. The present invention relates to an aircraft wing of which the layout of the planes is intended to increase the performance of the components. support such as the wings and planes of flying machines.
The airplane wing which is the object of this in vention comprises planes which, seen from the front and seen from above, form a succession of inverted Vs over the entire span and are superposed in a staircase towards the following rear. a direction of approximately 15 degrees relative to to horizontally, characterized in that said elements are spaced apart in a horizontal direction - so that the projection on a horizontal plane of the leading edge of any one,
-of said planes is located behind the corresponding projection of the edge, trailing the plane immediately below, the distance between these -two projections being approximately equal to the depth, of -of the planes, An embodiment of the present invention is shown schematically and to by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a view, in elevation, facing the leading edge;
The fi-. 2, a plan view, FIG. 3, a sectional view taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 1, Fig. 4, a sectional view along the line, ne 4--4; of FIG. 1.
In the example shown in the drawing, there is a frame formed by at least four side members 1, 2, 3 and 4 which can be solid or latticed. The section of these lanyards can be fusiform or have a wing profile whose upper surface does not have a negative angle of incidence, thus making these spars lift.
The side members 1, 2 and 3, 4 are connected respectively by oblique masts 5 and 6 which are each secured to an X-shaped 10 mast. The latter connects the side members 1, 4 and 2, 3 respectively. The 7 and 8 masts respectively connect the 1, 3 and 2, 4 side members, giving the frame perfect rigidity.
The anterior and superior oblique masts 5 and the posterior and inferior ones 6 which extend over the entire span of the wing are integral with the planes 9. </ B>
These planes 9 having a positive angle of incidence with respect to to the direction, of their elevation indicated by the arrow f, and connecting the masts 5 and 6. form, seen from the front and - seen from above, several inverted Vs over the entire span of the wing and are gradually arranged in height, towards the rear in a direction of approximately 45 degrees with respect to the horizontal and horizontally apart from each other, such that the projection on a horizontal plane of the leading edge of any one of the said planes is situated behind of the corresponding projection of the trailing edge of the immediately lower plane,
the distance between these two projections being approximately equal to the -depth of one of the planes. These planes thus arranged project, by compressing it, the fluid which arrives under each of said planes, perpendicularly to this one and behind the preceding one against the rising current caused by the latter, producing # c1e this dewlap an accumulation of compressions maxiTn a.
The lon #, erous 1 and 2 connecting the masts 5 can join the ends of the wings, while the single mast at the end must have the shape of a mast! 6.
The lower surfaces of planes 9 may be planar or curved.
At least two ailerons Il and 1,2 or 12 and 13 forming, in plan and in elevation a V, dc> nt the tip is positioned in the direction of flight and up, -or i in the direction, rear and down, respectively, or a -combined its of at least three fins 11, 12 and 13, < / B> or 12, 13 and 14 - can be arranged at the rear edge towards each free end of the wing for the control of the aircraft; as they are in V they are more efficient.
Of the four fins 11, 12, 13 and 14, the pairs # of fins 11-12 and 13-14, are more effective for the climb, the pair of 12-13 fins for the descent.
These ailerons which, by two i-xiaposés, form, in plan and in elevation, an angle and which are arranged behind or above and behind the posterior edge of the planes 9 situated at the highest point of the wing, can be replaced by an ordinary aileron arranged at the trailing edge of the stringer 4, for the rudder, of the device, aileron which, not indicated in the drawing, is less effective.
It follows from the -disposition described above, which recalls the disposition of the remiges of large raptors, the following advantages: The lifting force of the wing is increased dan.s a considerable proportion according to the principle set out in patent no. 125108.
The planes arranged so to form in plan and in elevation, a succession of Vs over the entire span #of the wing and whose points are respectively arranged in the direction of travel and towards the high, also produce an increase in compression under each of the elementary planes.
Another advantage of the present invention lies in the great robustness of the wing which is formed by an indefor mable braced frame maintaining the various elemental planes which brace it.
It is evident that the number, the # likes and the shapes of the spars, the masts and the plans are, subject to variation as well as the angle of the V formed by the plans.
