Zweitakt-Verbrennungsmotor.
Two-stroke internal combustion engine. The subject matter of the present invention is a two-stroke internal combustion engine with cylinders closed off from the crank chamber by a base plate, in particular for aircraft.
Up to now, these engines had cylinders cast together in a block together with a common cover body, and as a result, in the event of a malfunction in one of the cylinders, spare parts could either not be used without assistance, or they were too difficult to be carried along, so that The aircraft had to be shut down for a long time.
In the internal combustion engine according to the invention, he each cylinder has a Zylin dermantel which is fitted into the base plate and a cylinder cover. The cover is screwed to the base plate by bolts arranged concentrically around this jacket. A detachable chamber attached outside the cylinder and connected to the fresh air supply with a non-return valve establishes the connection of the compression space between the base plate and the piston with the working space of the cylinder.
Each cylinder consists of a few easily exchangeable parts, for which spare parts can be carried on the aircraft without a significant increase in weight. Also, no soot can occur on your only existing check valve, which is attached outside the cylinder without any control.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a section through a 7th cylinder of an aircraft engine and part of the crank chamber; Fig. 2 shows the cylinder seen from the front side of the engine; Fig. 3 is a section through the bottom plate of the cylinder.
As can be seen from the drawing, be each cylinder sits a cylindischeu Man tel 1, which is inserted into a bottom plate 2 and above in a cylinder lid 8 Zy.
In order to achieve a complete seal and to facilitate the assembly, the jacket 1 is to be removed at both ends; it is placed and in corresponding recesses in the base plate \? and the lid 8 fitted. The base plate 2 is screwed to the Xurbel housing 24 with screws 23 and has an inwardly directed guide bushing 3 in the middle, in which the hollow piston rod 4, which is fixed to the plunger. 5 is connected, is performed.
The. The piston rod 4 is connected at the bottom to the crankshaft 7 by a connecting rod F. The spark plug 9 is seated in the middle of the cylinder cover and there are radial cooling fins 1.0 around it. Between these cooling ribs 10, ears 11 for steel screws 12 are arranged, which are screwed into the bottom plate 2 and press the cover 8 firmly onto the jacket 1 by means of the nuts 13. On the jacket 1 cooling rings 14 are drawn through which the screws 12 go.
A slot is used to introduce the gases into the working space of this cylinder. 15, which is exposed by the piston 5 in the bottom dead center position. Opposite it, the cylinder has an opening 16 at the same level, which is in communication with the exhaust pipe 17.
For the entry of the gases into the compression chamber of the cylinder, an opening 18 is provided in the bottom plate 2 on the side, which is exactly perpendicular under half of the slot 15 and is connected to it on the outside by a removable chamber 19; this chamber narrows upwards in a funnel shape up to the cross section of the slot 15 in order to increase the pressure of the already compressed gases on entry into the working space of the cylinder. When entering the work space, the gases encounter a deflector 25 on the piston 5, which deflects them upwards. so that they: completely clean the working space of the cylinder from the burnt gases.
At the foot of the chamber 19 is by means of dc = s tube 20 with the not shown Ver. gases connected. The mouth of the tube 20 in the chamber is controlled by a check valve 21 back.
To lubricate the cylinder, an oil supply pipe 22 is closed to the chamber 19 near the slot 15, in such a way that the oil dripping in from it is entrained by the compressed gases when it flows over into the working space and adheres to the The running surface of the cylinder is reflected.
The piston rod 4 is lubricated by "01" contained in the crank chamber being thrown against the piston rod by the rotary movement of the crankshaft.
The engine shown is particularly suitable for aircraft. Only as much gas is fed into its working space, in a completely pure mixture, as is necessary to actuate the piston, which results in a significant reduction in fuel consumption, as has been shown on the basis of practical tests (up to zii 50% is achieved.
Apart from the easy accessibility and interchangeability of the individual parts, the low weight, etc., the high performance with low fuel consumption is likely to be of great importance for aviation technology, as this significantly extends the action radius for long-distance flights.
