Cooling device on the machine housing of rotary lobe compressors. On rotary lobe compressors, especially those based on the multi-cell system, special emphasis must be placed on cooling the machine housing, because these are mostly so-called direct current machines, in which the same parts of the machine housing are always at a constant, high temperature, so that these parts get very warm. like that. that the lubricating oil covering the walls evaporates quickly, which easily leads to seizure of the sliding parts and therefore endangers operational safety.
The walls of the machine housing have already been cooled from the outside with water or some other liquid or gaseous medium, but this cooling was not very efficient because the wall surface area was too small and the coolant speed did not reach a sufficiently high value either. because the spaces in question were too wide, which resulted in only a small flow rate. In order to increase the cooling effect of the coolant used, for example liquid or gaseous coolant, according to the present invention, the space which receives the coolant is divided into channels.
in that ribs are attached, which on the one hand enlarge the cooled surface of the machine housing, on the other hand, through cross-sectional constriction, cause a far higher flow rate of the coolant causing the cooling.
This speed is increased by the fact that at least a part of the number of channels is connected in series, which has the effect that: the counting means - these channels one after the other, one after the other, one after the other and in groups one after the other or only one after the other in groups other @ flows through.
The machine housing can expediently be composed of two jacket cylinders, one on the outside and one on the inside, which are pushed into one another. The ribs can be attached to one of the two.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. Fig. 1 shows a vertical cross section through a rotary piston compressor according to the multi-cell system. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section along the plane a-b in Fig. 1 through the machine housing; Rotary piston and Ge housing cover are not shown. Finally, Fig. 3 shows a development of the outer jacket surface of the inner cylinder B of the machine housing, this jacket surface after the horizontal plane X X in Fig. 1 as cut open and handled ge is thought.
In Fig. 1, A denotes the outer, B the inner part of the machine housing of a rotary piston compressor. C is the rotary piston ben, which is mounted eccentrically in the machine housing. D are the slides operated by centrifugal force, for example, which are responsible for conveying the gaseous or vaporous contents. A3 means the suction nozzle, through which the sucked in or pressed gas or vapor volume reaches the compressor. A4, on the other hand, is the outlet port. The internal cylinder B of the machine housing is provided with ribs J which, however, do not occupy the entire length of the cylinder B, but leave gaps, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. In contrast, the Rip pen J lie tightly against the inner wall of the outer cylinder A of the machine housing.
In this way channels are created through which the cooling agent, for example water or cold steam or gas, can flow. The ribs enlarge the surface of the inner machine housing cylinder B, moreover, they are also able to dissipate heat to the outer cylinder A of the machine housing, the inner wall of which they touch, which in turn is coated on the inner wall of the water by the coolant. The outer cylinder of A can therefore still take part in the cooling of inner cylinder B. Of course, it would also be possible to attach the ribs J to the inner wall of the machine housing cylinder A, but that would be less practical and less effective.
But since the ribs J are not attached to the entire length of the machine housing, but leave gaps, there is the possibility that the coolant can get from one cape after it has flowed through it into the other. Fig. 3 shows an example of an arrangement of the ribs J on the inner cylinder B of the machine housing in the settlement.
The housing is intended to be cut open and developed along a horizontal plane X-X through the suction connector A13. At A2 is the inlet of the coolant, for example water, which now flows through the channels to both sides, as indicated by the arrows, which pass through the ribs 7 and the inner wall of the outer cylinder A of the machine housing and the outer wall of the inner cylinder B. are formed.
At A1, the two coolants come together again and now leave the machine housing.
Each of these coolant flows flows through channels that are individually connected one behind the other and, in A3 and A.4, a group of channels connected in parallel.
Since, however, only half of the coolant quantity flushes half of the machine housing in this way, which reduces the flow rate by half, it is better to take the following measures.
If there is coolant entering at A2 in FIG. 1, the ribs J can easily be arranged in such a way that the entire coolant flow first flows through one half of the machine housing, passing from Az via Ag to G.
At G an opening can now be made through which the coolant leaves the machine housing and, be it through a pipe, or even more simple and practical through the Kühlmit tel rooms of the machine housing cover, not shown, is directed to H, where it is returned to the machine housing enters and now flows through the other side of the same via A4, to finally leave the machine housing at rA1.
In this way it is achieved that the entire coolant flow through the entire machine housing flows on the longest path through the channels and assumes a maximum speed, which is determined by the respective, light cross-section of the channels so that the best cooling effect is achieved. It is advantageous that the suction side of the compressor is cooled first, in that the coolant flow first reaches G from A2 via Al 3.
The suction side of the rotary piston compressor also needs cooling, because hot waste gases or vapors flow from the pressure chamber into the suction chamber and there the gases or vapors heat up, which on the one hand reduces the amount of weight sucked in, on the other hand increases the final temperature of the compression and therewith the power consumption for the compaction has to be expended. By now also cooling the walls of cylinder B on the suction side, namely from the coolant, the temperature of which is still the lowest, it is achieved that the hot waste gases or vapors that collect on the suction side are cooled Advantage is.
Since the temperature difference between the coolant on the one hand and the freshly sucked in gases or vapors, mixed with hot lost gases or vapors on the other hand, is not very large, it is all the more useful to apply the cooling fins J to the cooled surface and thus the cooling effect increase the coolant.
Instead of directing the coolant from opening G to opening H, FIG. 1, through the housing cover, it can also flow continuously to the pressure side of the machine housing; In this case, however, you have to attach a vent cock at the highest point of the machine housing in order to let the air flow out of the cold room at the moment when the coolant is introduced. It would then have to leave the cold room in the machine housing at H again.
