Improved machine for conditioning grains. The object of the present invention is an improved machine for conditioning grains comprising a casting tower inside which the grain falls, the fall of the latter being thwarted by baffles in the form of inverted buckets, which form conduits open at their lower part and resting on two walls of the casting tower in a series of stages, the whole established in such a way that a current of hot air arriving through a supply channel placed on one side of the casting tower,
enters it through the end of the inlet buckets and escapes into a suction channel by means of suction buckets, entraining the humidity which arises during the hot treatment and thus opposing the deposition of dust and other light materials, the hot air at its outlet from the suction channel being able to pass directly to the supply channel by means of a terie pipe, via an air heater. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the assembly of a machine for conditioning grains, according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation; Fig. 3 is a side elevation, part of the suction channel being removed in order to show the construction details more clearly; The fg. 4 is a section in plan along A-B of fig. 3, schematically showing details of the machine shown in FIG. 1.
The machine comprises a casting tower a inside which the grain falls, the latter being introduced by the hopper b and flowing through the discharge hopper c, the usual control devices are mounted at b and c, but are not shown in the drawing.
Baffles in the form of inverted buckets cross the casting tower, resting on two of its opposite faces and form a series of conduits arranged in rows or stages d, e, f, g; un sufficient space is provided between the successive rows of conduits, as well as between the conduits of the same row; the conduits belonging to the same row are not in line with those of the immediately lower and upper rows in order to force the grain to follow a zigzag path, which has the effect of ensuring a more efficient action of the necks rants of air on the grain.
On one side of the casting tower is arranged a hot air supply channel h and on the opposite side a suction channel i which is put in communication by means of the pipe j with a fan < I> m and an air heater ra which in turn feeds the pipe h. This communicates freely with the intake buckets e, interposed between the rows of the suction buckets d; which communicate freely with the suction channel i.
If desired, part of the air from channel j can be conducted directly into the suction line o through the pipe j1, which is provided with a suitable control valve. The hot air arriving through channel h, passes through the intake buckets e, escapes through their open lower part and crosses the grain flow to reach the suction buckets d in which it enters through their lower part. open and escapes through their front opening into the suction channel i to then be reheated in y & and start the same circulation cycle again.
In the lower section of the casting tower o are arranged the rows of conduits f and g, the conduits f communicating freely with the suction channel o, con ducing to the fan p and the dust separator q, opening directly to the open air, while the ducts g open directly to the atmosphere at one of their ends so that the cold air is sucked in in the ducts of these rows and passes through the grain flow to be finally sucked into the channel o.
Each suction duct d is provided with one or more narrow openings r on their lateral side opposite to that opening into the suction channel i, so as to allow hot air coming from the channel d to enter directly therein. 'supply h and to maintain a sufficiently high temperature to oppose the condensation of the humidity entrained in said conduits, which would have the effect of humidifying the walls and promoting the deposition and accumulation of dust and light materials, the grain of which has been cleared by the draft.
In addition, the jets of hot air escaping from the openings also have the effect of intensifying the entrainment of any solid material through the ducts d in the suction channel i.
In addition to the hot air intake directly into the ducts d and the casting tower a, provision can be made to pass hot air directly from the supply channel h into the suction channel i, through a bypass line s, which is fitted with a control valve t, this installation being designed to prevent harmful condensation in the pipe system connecting the conduits d < / I> and the suction channel i with the fan m and the air heater n.
A neutral section k, devoid of communication with the air is arranged between the upper section supplied with hot air from the casting tower and the lower section supplied with cold air, in order to prevent the suction acting on the hot air in the upper section does not extend to the lower section and entrain cold air, which will condense the humidity in the ducts and suction pipes.
