Safety holder for iron. The present invention relates to an automatic safety holder for iron. This switch is intended to prevent overheating and thus a fire hazard with irons.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is Darge provides.
Fig. 1 shows a Sieherli: side holder in a file-like section, fastened to an iron; 2 illustrates the internal arrangement of the switch after removal of the cover; Fig. 3 shows a view with the safety lever.
1 is the switch housing in which the contact spring 2 is firmly screwed at one end and is provided with a platinum contact 4 at the other end, which plugs against the contact when the circuit is closed 5 presses. In the contact spring 2, a pin 8 is fastened in an insulated manner. This pin 8 has an incision, which can be seen in FIG. 1 . The safety lever 9 comes to rest in this incision as soon as pressure is exerted on the spring 2 in the direction of the safety lever and the contact spring 2 is removed from the contact plug 5 is separated. This interrupts the current and can only be used again when the lever 9 is released.
The second contact plug, which represents the connection between the heating element and the line, is directly connected to the line through the contact piece 6. The screws 3 are used to connect the switch to the cable.
To automatically switch off in the event of overheating, two strips 12 and 13 made of metals with different expansion coefficients are attached to one another. The strip 12 consists of a metal with greater expansion coefficients than the strip 13, and because the same, as indicated in the drawing, bent and iron between the bracket 14 and the bracket 15 > are attached, the strips 12 and 13 move when heated in the direction given by strieli-dotted lines.
This movement is used to push the contact spring 2 or the platinum contact 4 away from the contact plug 5 , whereupon the power is switched off and the safety lever 9 into the incision of the lock - pin 8 snaps into place. The pressure of the aluminum strips 12 and 13 is applied to the contact spring 9 by means of a sleeve which is fastened in an isolated manner in the contact spring 2 and in which there is a regulating screw 6- 7 . transferred. 12 'and 13' show in dash-dotted lines the position of the metal strips when heated and 2 'and 9' show the switch is switched off.
The entire switch is closed by a cover 11 using two screws 10 . Since the distance of the screw 7 from the clamping point of the spring 2 is smaller than that of the platinum contact 4 from the clamping point of the spring 92 , it is clear that a 'small Movement of the screw 7 causes a significantly greater distance of the contact piece 4 from the contact plug 5 , which causes the security lever 9 to snap into place as soon as the metal strips 12 and 13 perform a corresponding movement.
Since the adjusting screw 7 in the sleeve can be adjusted, it is possible to set the switch-off temperature within certain limits.
