Apparatus for recording sound waves. The present invention relates to an apparatus which is used to record sound waves.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows an elevation of the same, and FIG. 2 shows a floor plan along the line A-SS. The apparatus consists of a horn, not specified in the drawing, against which the sound waves to be recorded are directed, with a microphone in front of it. A winding 10 is located in the microphone circuit. This winding 10 is carried by the urimagnetic parts 11, 12 and 111, 121.
These parts are fastened to the pole shoes 3 of a permanent magnet 2 by means of screws 13 and 131. The pole shoes of the magnet have a cutout 14 and 141 into which the coil 10 protrudes. In the axis of the coil 10 lies a membrane 9 made of magnetizable material, which is supported at one end by means of a ball joint by means of a ball joint on the base plate 1, and at the other end by means of a fork-shaped end 15 engaging a groove of a stylus 7. The stylus 7 is axially adjustable in the hollow shaft 16 of a rotor 4, and is forced to follow the rotations of the rotor.
The shaft 16 rests with one end on the base plate 19 of the motor housing and is guided by bearings 17 and 18. 5 is the collector, 6 is the brush of the motor. 8 is a soft metal, not part of the apparatus, rotating roller; which is provided with a screw thread in which the sound waves are to be recorded. The roller is rotated and pre-screwed in a manner not shown, so. that the stylus 7 always remains in the coil.
The mode of operation of the apparatus is as follows: The bell jar throws the sound waves against the microphone meaibrarie. The current changes in the microphone circuit and accordingly in the coil 10 cause changes in the magnetization of the mem brane 9, which is positive at one end and negative at the other end: the free end of the membrane 9 is then pushed off by the pole of the magnet 2 of the same name and attracted by the unlike one, the more the greater the magnetization of the membrane 9 is, that is, in dependence from. the strength of the microphone stream. If the motor 4 is set in motion at the same time; whereby the engraving stylus 7 receives a rotating movement, it draws the sound waves into the metal roller 8.
