Description

Tube made of fiber material permeated by a binding agent and method for producing the same. The present invention relates to a pipe made of fiber material permeated by a binding agent, and to a method for producing the same.

Until then, it was customary to connect such tubes with the help of metal flanges. According to the invention, the pipe made of fiber material penetrated by a binding agent has at least one organ intended for connecting the pipe to another pipe, which organ consists of the same material as the rest of the pipe.

In the method according to the invention, this connecting element is subsequently attached to the pipe. The connecting element is expediently in the form of a flange and is produced, for example, by placing a shape around the roughened end of the pipe into which the wet material is pressed, and when it dries, the roughening of the pipe causes good adhesion between the flange and the pipe .

The flange can be attached to the pipe as follows: After one end circumference, for example, of an asbestos cement pipe on the outside, for example by cutting a coarse thread, has been made jagged or roughened, a suitable shape is placed around the pipe end and wet asbestos cement is introduced into the same which is then pressed onto the pipe by means of a press. The roughening of the pipe serves to increase the adhesion between the same and the flange.

Reinforcement can be inserted into the mold before the flange is pressed on.

Such flanges can be completely flat or provided with grooves of any kind on the end face; they can also be slotted or equipped with holes which were formed into the same during manufacture and which are suitable for receiving nut bolts with which the flanges can be drawn together in the manner customary for metal pipes. You can also be provided with sealing washers, which are located in recesses arranged between the flanges, and these tubes can be designed and treated the same as usual Liche metal flange tubes.

Asbestos cement pipes, which are manufactured in the manner described enclosed, are much cheaper than the usual variety with Me tallflanschen and are the same in practice.
