Zahnrad c in Eingriff stehen.
Drive device for automatic casting machines for opening and closing the mold and for controlling metal removal. A drive device for automatic casting machines is already known, in which the shaft moving the casting mold is driven when the casting mold is closed by broken gears from a constantly rotating part.
According to the invention, the opening of the mold and both the opening and the closing of the metal removal organ are now caused by the constantly rotating part, also by interrupted gears and also by means of parts, for example shafts, which alternate quickly Gears and tooth segments and slowly moved by a single gear and tooth segments.
The advantage of this device is that one of the two parts driven at changing speed can be arranged as a hollow shaft on the shaft used to move the casting mold and the other part as a hollow shaft on the shaft used to drive the metal removal element. Since the constantly rotating part can also sit loosely on one of the shafts, the entire drive can be accommodated very tightly on two axes.
1 shows a horizontal section through the entire drive, FIG. 2 a section according to A-ss, FIG. 3 a section according to C-D and FIG. 4- a section according to E-F in FIG. 1.
The shaft a is used to drive the metal removal device (chuck) and the shaft b to drive the casting mold. On the shaft a the gear c and on the shaft b the toothed segment d is keyed. The shaft a is still surrounded by the hollow shafts e, f and the shaft b by the hollow shaft g. The Schneekenrad h, which is continuously driven by a worm (Fig. 3) when the machine has been put into operation for casting a plate, is keyed on the hollow shaft f.
The rotary movement of the worm wheel h is transmitted through the hollow shaft f and tooth segment i to the tooth segment d, so that the shaft b is rotated so far quickly that the tooth segments z, d are no longer in engagement with one another; the mold is then closed. During the rotation of the shaft b, the shaft a through the gear k, gear segment l, hollow shaft g, tooth segment mn and gear c is rotated at a lower speed, until the toothless part of the segment l opposite the gear ke is in which position of the parts the metal removal organ is open.
By this Dre hung the hollow shaft g, the teeth of another, attached to the same tooth segment n is brought into the sphere of action of the single gear w attached to the hollow shaft f, which continues to rotate the segment by the distance of three teeth with each revolution. During this period of slow switching of the hollow shaft g, the hollow shaft g is held by a pawl z engaging in the disk na between every switching movement through the one gearwheel w. Neither the shaft b nor the shaft a is rotated because the Toothings of the segments i and mn not respectively with the tooth segment d. Gear c are engaged.
During the slow circuit, which corresponds to the cooling time of the cast plate, the metal removal organ remains open and the mold closed until the toothing of the segment l in the gear k and the die through the rotation of the hollow shaft d Toothing of the segment engages in the gear c and thereby the metal removal organ is closed.
The rotation of the hollow shaft will at any time - whether slow or fast - project through the gears o, p on the hollow shaft e, so that the slow shifting of the hollow shaft d </ I > at the same time the toothed segment q, which is wedged onto the hollow shaft e, with which aa us one piece with the toothed segment d comes into engagement and the mold opens relatively slowly.
The closed position of the mold is indicated by discs rs, t. backed up in a known manner in the manner of the Geneva block. Similar disks u ,, v and J, x are provided in order to define both the open and the closed position of the metal removal device.
