Process for the production of fringed borders. The present invention is a method for producing fringes borders. After this, the edge design of the fringed border is embroidered onto a base fabric on an embroidery machine and the fringes are created by arranging explosive threads that are repeated many times in a repeat, whereupon the base fabric that has remained visible is removed, and the attachment points of the lower ends of the explosive threads be cut off from the base material.
The process can be carried out on the Schiffli embroidery machine with or without an automat or on the hand embroidery machine.
The drawing serves to explain the method and shows in Fig. 1 an intermediate product in view, Fig. 2 the same in cross section, and Fig. 3 shows the product in a first exemplary embodiment, while Figs. 4 to 7 show further embodiments of the product in view . On any, sufficiently resistant, in the embroidery machine clamped base fabric 1, the desired border design 2 of the fringed border is embroidered with or without the use of the known auxiliary equipment. The fringes 3 are produced by the formation of explosive threads which are fastened to the base material 1 at their lower ends 4.
When using a Schiffli embroidery machine, for example, at 4, the needle and bobbin threads used for explosive threads are connected to each other and the basic fabric, and when using a hand embroidery machine the explosive threads are only loosely drawn through the basic fabric 1. Here at these explosive threads are now pulled multiple times in each embroidery repeat.
The more explosive threads are pulled per repeat, the denser the framing will be. Here on the base fabric of @ Stellü 4 not covered by the embroidery 2 is cut away in line 5, so that the explosive threads previously lying on two sides of the base fabric 1 combine to form a uniform fringed curtain. The basic fabric 1 in the design 2 can be removed between the embroidery by the drill of the machine and those between the explosive threads 3 by cutting away.
The fringes are achieved directly by embroidery threads.
The base material can also be gradually drilled off at the base of Desinns 2 as the embroidery progresses, so that it only needs to be cut off in line 5.
The fringes can still be linked to individual strands of fringes 6 on the machine at 7 (Fig. 4). The link can also be made at points 8, in some distance from the embroidery design 2 (Fig. 5).
Two rows of links 9 and 10 can be arranged one below the other (Fig. 6) for so-called Zwillingsver link.
In the fringed border according to FIG. 7, the fringes 3 are partially used for embroidering the design 2 by, after embroidering the border 11 with or without the help of tensioning the threads 12, the border 11 to the embroidery design 2 through multiple links 13, 14 is supplemented.
Instead of drilling and cutting away, the base fabric can also be removed by etching away when the fringed border is embroidered on etching material.
