Process and foundry for the production of sprueless stereotype plates. The subject of the invention is a method and a foundry for Her put of sprueless stereotype plates, namely the former is one of those procedural ren in which the liquid metal is supplied through a connecting line from the melting pot from the casting mold and the metal located in this after filling the mold is separated from the metal in the line by a closing element.
According to the invention, the metal is kept in constant circulation by a conveying device arranged in the melting pot, in such a way that the metal flows through a pouring funnel located above it after filling the casting mold, from which it falls back into the melting pot through an overflow.
The drawing shows an embodiment example of a foundry suitable for carrying out the process in Fig. 1 in section; Fig. 2 shows a detail in a different embodiment, also in section. In the melting kettle a, a centrifugal group b works, which constantly feeds the liquid metal through the connection line c to the pouring mouth o and the metal, if it does not enter the casting mold e, back through the pouring funnel f and from there through the overflow g into the melting kettle promotes. The pouring funnel f is open at the top in a known manner so that the air bubbles can escape through it.
The metal inlet to the casting mold can be opened and closed in any way, for example by a rotary slide h, which is pivoted about the pivot point i ge. The metal located in the casting mold e is separated in a known manner from the metal located in the connecting line c in such a way that the finished plate can be removed from the casting mold without casting.
The opening of the mold and the pivoting of the casting jacket k and the core l can be made in a known manner. The device described shows the advantage of the already liquid infusion working the foundries, in which air bubbles are able to escape through the pouring funnel. to a greater extent. The escape of the air bubbles is energetically promoted by the fact that the casting metal moves upwards in the pouring funnel, that is to say in the direction in which the air bubbles emerge.
These who are torn upwards by the flowing metal and escape through the upper end of the pouring funnel. It is therefore possible, as has also been confirmed by experiments, to cast a very dense plate on this sweep. In addition, a vigorous mixture of the individual components of the bath is constantly obtained, which is also known to be of great advantage for the quality of the cast plates.
Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the shut-off device. The inflow of the metal to the casting mold e is closed and released by a Drei wegliahnen iit, which can be connected on one side with the connecting line e, on the second side with the casting mold c, on the third side with the pouring funnel f .
In the known versions of such rotary valves, a sprue is formed in the plug channel; in the device of FIG. 2, this is not possible, please include because the metal in the plug channel n. is in constant motion.
In .the above is. the casting plant viewed with the hopper open at the top. If the funnel is closed by a valve q, for example, the metal flowing from the pouring funnel f to the downpipe g sucks the air out of the space r in the manner of a jet pump. Due to the dilution of air at r, the line f, r, g becomes a siphon line.
Assuming that all air has been removed from r, there is a negative pressure in the siphon line as far as it is above the metal level of the boiler, i.e. from o to r to p, with the pouring mouth o being higher than the metal level of the @ c @ imc @ z- kessels.
If you now open the rotary valve h. After the casting mold has started, the air is sucked out of the casting mold.
The experiments have shown that the cast plates become extremely tight when the metal is brought into the mold under pressure. There are two ways of creating the pressure 1. By opening valve q. This results in a static pressure of height s at the mold inlet.
?. You can throttle the line o, r, p behind the metal inlet in the mold. The simplest way of throttling is through the closure member at the mold inlet itself, for example by slowly turning it further after opening the inlet in the mold until it partially shuts off the line f.
Before the casting mold is swiveled away, the shut-off device is brought into the position shown in broken lines in Fig. 2 so that the metal in the line f does not solidify.
By eliminating the prevailing negative pressure and generating an overpressure, the die is prevented from bending inwards under the effect of this negative pressure. Such a bending in of the die would cause the plate to collapse on the writing side.
