Wet electroplating device with rotating goods container. The present invention relates to electroplating apparatus of the type in which goods were electroplated en masse in a rotating water tank with a loading opening that was freely accessible during the electroplating process.
According to the invention, the goods container is designed in such a way that intermediate surfaces are arranged between its bottom piece and its outer surface delimiting the loading opening, a portion of which always offers horizontal or approximately horizontal support surfaces during the rotation of the container for the rolling goods, the loading opening is relatively large and designed to be suitable for the introduction of a withdrawal vessel for the finished galvanized goods into the container.

In the apparatus according to FIGS. 1 to 4, 1 is the goods container, 2 a drive axis, 3 the loading opening of the goods container, 4 filled goods, 5 the anode and 6 the contacts for the cathode current. The goods container 1 has between its Bo the 8 and its loading opening 3 delimiting the lateral surface 10 between surfaces x. The intermediate surfaces are arranged in such a way that, whatever the rotational position of the goods container during its rotation, some of these intermediate surfaces offer horizontal or approximately horizontal support surfaces for the rolling goods.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, the goods container consists of two truncated pyramids with a regular octagonal base surface lying next to one another with the base. The goods container is made of non-conductive material (e.g. wood). The drive axis 2 of the goods container is inclined and stored in a bracket 12. The axle is driven by a belt pulley 13.
14 with a cable is referred to, which is used to supply the cathode current via a rotatably mounted on the axis 2, accordingly insulated rings. The ring 15 carries three brushes 16 (Fig. 1, 3). The external contacts are conductively connected to the internal contacts 6 by means of screws 21. The internal contacts are arranged on the intermediate surfaces x of the goods container 1 in such a way that they almost completely cover each of the intermediate surfaces (FIGS. 1 and 4).
The anode 5 is carried by an adjustment mechanism y (Fig. 5), which enables the introduction of the anode to the desired position relative to the goods and the execution of the anode from the goods container. This adjustment mechanism has a handlebar system 30, 31 designed in the manner of parallelism guides, which is mounted on a bracket 32 such that it can pivot about the pins 33, 34. The links 30, 31 are connected at their free ends to a rod 35 on which the anode 5 is rotatably and displaceably mounted.
For this purpose, the anode is fastened to a bracket 36 which is fastened to a sleeve 37 which can be fixed in the respectively desired position on the support rod 35 by means of an adjusting screw 38. During the electroplating, the adjusting mechanism assumes the position indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 5. When not electroplating, the adjusting mechanism with the anode is in the position shown in full lines in FIG.
In order to ensure fixation of the adjustment mechanism in both of these operationally important positions, the link 31 is provided with an extension 40 which, depending on its position, is supported against stops 41, 42 in the aforementioned positions. The stop 41 is stable on the bracket 32, but the stop 42 is adjustable in a longitudinal slot 45 incorporated in the bracket 32. The adjustment device described above made light on the one hand in all. Fine adjustment of the anode in relation to the surface of the goods and, on the other hand, also the removal of the anode from the goods container in a very simple manner.
The loading opening of the Warenbe container is made so large that a removal vessel z can be inserted into the container to empty the container. The withdrawal vessel consists for example of an open sheet metal box of the construction illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 9. 50 is the front wall, 51 is the rear wall, 52, 53 are the side walls and 54 is the base. The front wall 50 is provided with an opening which can be closed by a slide lock 56. The slide can be rotated about an axis 57 and is opened through guided by the guide 58. The slide is operated by means of the knob 59.
A handle 60 and a latch 61 are also arranged on the front wall for a purpose explained later. The rear wall 51 and the side walls 52, 53 are designed so that they can rest smoothly on its inner surfaces when inserting into the goods container (see Fig. 11). The bottom 54 of the removal receptacle is designed as a sliding surface, so that when the removal receptacle is removed from the goods container and the closure 56 is opened, the goods fall out of the removal receptacle automatically. A bearing 62, which has a bore 63, is attached to the dispensing vessel.
With the bearing 62, the dispensing vessel can be suspended between two floodplains 64 provided in the goods container and pivotably supported by an axis 65 extending through these eyes and the bearing bore 63 in the sense of the arrow direction q shown in FIG. Holes 69 are provided in the wall of the withdrawal vessel.
If necessary, one or more guide surfaces 70 (FIG. 10) can be arranged in the goods container, which support the filling of the goods into the removal vessel z. A drain connection 72 for the electrolyte and a weight 73 are also provided on the goods container, which compensates for the weight of the removal vessel (FIGS. 1 and 5).
The handling and operation of the device is as follows: With the anode swiveled back and the removal vessel swung out (Fig. 5), the goods are filled into the goods container 1 already filled with electrolyte. Once this has happened, the anode is swiveled in and the fine adjustment direction 42, 45 set in the correct position. Thereupon the goods container is energized and in the direction of the arrow direction p (Fig. 2) is set in rotating motion ver.
This operation is continued until the goods are completely electroplated, and the progress of the electroplating can be conveniently observed through the unusually large loading opening. After the finished electroplating, the goods container is stopped, specifically in such a position that the removal vessel assumes the position shown in full lines in FIG.
Now the anode is swiveled out of the goods container with a handle on the adjustment mechanism y (FIG. 1.4) and at the same time the removal vessel z is brought into the position indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 15; the removal vessel is swiveled so far into the goods container that it rests smoothly on the inside of the container (FIG. 11).
If the goods container is now rotated further in the direction of arrow p by approximately 180 '(compare intermediate position in FIGS. 16 and 17), the removal vessel z is automatically filled with goods during this rotation. The filling period begins approximately at the position of the removal vessel illustrated in FIG. 17.
If the goods container has been rotated by about 180 from the position in FIG. 15, the removal vessel located inside the goods container, whose axis of rotation takes an almost vertical position in this position of the goods container, is swiveled out by grasping the handle 60, namely only so far that the front surface 50 of the Entnahmege vessel cuts off with the edge of the outer surface of the goods container (Fig. 18). In this position, the removal vessel is now locked for a short time by means of the bolt 61 on the goods container.
Since the withdrawal vessel is located outside of the electrolyte in this position, all of the electrolyte still adhering to the goods can flow off or through the holes 69. drain into the goods container. If the goods have dripped off, the removal vessel is pivoted out further by means of the handle 60 by approximately 180 '(FIG. 20). Here, the axis of rotation of the dispensing vessel is in an approximately vertical position, so that the swiveling out of the filled dispensing vessel can be followed with very little effort.
In this position, the rear wall 5 is the same from the point of view of the viewer looking into the loading opening in front of the front wall 50 of the Ent receiving vessel. The bottom surface 54 (FIG. 7) of the removal vessel then assumes a position sloping downwards. If the slide 56 is opened in this end position of the removal vessel (see rear view, FIG. 21), the finished electroplated product slips out of the removal vessel and can immediately be caught in a provided water rinsing tub 80 with a collecting sieve.
An apparatus with a different power supply to the goods to be electroplated is shown in FIGS. 22 to 24. The anodic power supply to the electrolyte 80 follows here via the plate-shaped anode 5 (FIG. 23) as described above; on the other hand, the cathodic power supply K consists of a simple strong conductor, the end of which extends into the goods to enlarge the contact surface according to FIG. 22, a hook-shaped 82, or according to FIG. 24 a fork-shaped 83, training.
The extensions 82, 83 are expediently attached to the conductor 85 at an obtuse angle to the conductor 85 in the direction averted from the anode. The cathodic power supply K is arranged in such a way that it penetrates the article 4 to be electroplated at that point 84 where it comes closest to the electrolyte level. This arrangement makes it possible for the conductor 85 to be exposed to the electroplating over a very short distance at most. If necessary, this can also be prevented by isolation, so that practically the highest useful effect can be achieved.
The attachment of the conductor 85 of the cathodic power supply can for example take place in the same way as the attachment of the anode described above (see also FIG. 23) by means of a bracket 86 and a sleeve 87 on a support rod 88. This ensures a wide variety of setting options.
Instead of the hook-shaped or fork-shaped construction of the lower end of the cathodic power supply K, other shapes can also be used, for example a loose chain that is anchored at the lower end of the conductor 85.
The shape, design and arrangement of the individual parts of the device can also be changed within the scope of the invention.
