La capacité du réservoir d'attente 3 pourra déterminer le nombe d'opérations ainsi réalisables sans remise en charge du liquide, c'est-à-dire que du liquide pourra être admis dans le réservoir d'attente jusqu'à ce que la pression du liquide dans ce réservoir équilibre la tension du ressort 10; dans ce but, le li quide refoulé dans ce réservoir pourra soit comprimer un fluide contenu dans ce réser voir, soit repousser un ressort, soit soulever une masse de course limitée;
On pourra.
A la fin de cette course de refoulement du pis ton 5, l'interrupteur 9 est ouvert et l'action magnétique cesse, à ce moment le liquide d'é vacuation sous pression dans le réservoir d'at tente 3 par l'action d'air sous pression dans ce dernier ou par l'action d'un ressort ou d'un poids, repousse la soupape 15 et fait reculer le piston de refoulement 5 jusqu'à ce que l'in terrupteur 9 referme le circuit du solénoïde 6; le piston de refoulement prendra alors un mouvement oscillatoire et refoulera ainsi le liquide contenu dans le réservoir 3 dans le ré servoir principal;
Hydro-electric motor device. The present invention relates to a positive motor device in which the driving agent is constituted by a pressurized liquid emma gasoline in a tank designated hereinafter by main tank and which is recharged by the action of a solenoid traversed by an electric current and the magnetized core of which is joined to a piston referred to below as the delivery piston.
Motor devices of this kind have the advantage of being both simple and robust. In those which are known and which have been applied in particular to controlling vehicle brakes, the delivery piston is at the same time the receiving piston, acting for example on the brake linkage.
This piston is therefore necessarily moved in one direction by the pressurized liquid and in the other by the solenoid which at the same time puts the liquid back into charge in the main tank.
The device, object of the invention, is characterized in that the pressurized liquid coming from the main tank is directed by a supply line to at least one hydraulic receiver which, during its operation, delivers liquid through a discharge pipe in a holding tank, where a significant quantity of this discharge liquid can accumulate before being discharged to the main tank by the discharge piston moved from its normal position by the liquid evacuation itself and re-treading the latter thanks to the action of the solé noïde.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically, by way of example, one embodiment of the device.
The piston receiver, framed by a rectangle in dotted lines, is generally designated by the letter R. It is connected between a supply line 1 for pressurized liquid and an evacuation line 2.
The supply line 1 is connected to the main tank 8 in which a certain quantity of pressurized liquid is stored. The discharge line 2 leads to a holding tank 3 with interposing shutters, the role of which will be specified below. In this holding tank can accumulate discharge liquid from receptors such as B.
The discharge liquid, prior to the delivery operation to the main tank 8, by entering a cylinder 4 will move away from its normal position shown in dotted lines, a delivery piston 5 which will subsequently be moved in the direction of delivery by l action of a solenoid 6.
This delivery piston 5 can optionally, as in the known devices to which allusion has been made, serve in certain cases of use as a receiver;,! It suffices for this purpose that the pressurized liquid can be brought directly to this delivery piston, for example by a pipe 7. This piston 5 can under these conditions be used as in known devices, for the actuation of brakes including moderation is obtained either by adjusting the antagonistic action of the solenoid or by adjusting the quantity of liquid admitted.
It goes without saying that the holding tank specified above could consist simply of the cylinder 4 where the delivery piston 5 moves. But, for example, when said delivery piston 5 must be able to be used as a receiver , as shown in the drawing, it will be necessary to construct the holding tank with an independent capacity 3.
The evacuation liquid coming from the various receivers, including possibly the receiver formed in some cases by the delivery piston 5 will accumulate in this capacity 3 by putting under tension an agent, air in the form of 'execution shown, which will impart sufficient pressure to the discharge liquid to move the delivery piston 5 from its normal position, the cylinder 4 of which will be filled with liquid which will be discharged to the main tank 8 by the action of the solenoid valve .
The quantity of liquid thus discharged in one stroke of the delivery piston 5 may be less than the quantity accumulated in the holding tank 3 and this in particular in the case where the delivery piston 5 has to be used on occasion. receiving piston, for example actuating the brakes of a vehicle. In this case, the stroke of this piston 5 which can be used for the delivery should generally be limited to a small part of its total stroke, the greater part of which should remain available for the action of this piston as a receiving piston.
The delivery piston 5 should therefore be able to accomplish a certain number of delivery strokes in succession. To this end, the circuit of the electric current for the supply passes through a switch 9 actuated by the movements of the delivery piston 5 so that it opens at the end of the delivery stroke, when said plunger 5 occupies its normal position, and that it closes only when this piston 5 has been moved away under the pressure of the discharge liquid by a length corresponding to the stroke reserved for the delivery. In this way, the delivery piston 5 will be subjected to an oscillatory movement of amplitude corresponding to the length of this stroke, as long as the delivery period lasts.
It should be noted that this delivery to the main reservoir 8 can be carried out in two ways. First a direct path consisting of a duct 7 connected between the main tank 8 and the delivery cylinder 4. Then an indirect path consisting of the discharge line 2 and one or other of the receivers such as R which, by receiving liquid in return via the evacuation pipe 2, will evacuate the liquid in the supply pipe 1, thus putting the liquid from the main tank 8 back into charge.
From the point of view of the direct route, the pipe 7 has already been specified above as being able to serve to supply liquid under pressure directly into the cylinder 4 when the delivery piston 5 is used as a receiver, for example for the pump. actuation of a brake linkage. In the latter case, in normal operation, this piston 5, which is both receiver and discharge, will operate as in the known devices to which allusion has been made, that is to say that the solenoid 6 will move the piston 5 which can deliver the liquid that has entered cylinder 4 directly into the main tank 8.
In the case of brakes, this pushback will generally correspond to the release of the brakes. If the electric current for the soleoid 6 is momentarily lacking, it will nevertheless be possible, thanks to the present invention, to bring back the delivery piston 5 having acted as a receiver to its normal position, in a position corresponding for example to the release of the brakes. It will suffice for this ef fect to let the liquid contained in the cylinder 4 flow into the waiting tank 3. A return spring such as 10 may suffice for this operation. In the case of application to brakes, this return spring may be that of the linkage.
The movement of the delivery piston 5 produced by the return spring 10 constitutes one of the operating phases of the receiver comprising said delivery piston 5 and acting for example on the brakes. For this receiver, the supply duct and the evacuation duct comprise a common section.
The device will then function as follows: the discharge liquid coming from cylinder 4 is directed into the holding tank 3, where said cylinder can accumulate before being discharged towards the main tank 8, this admission into cylinder 3 being controlled by an automatic valve 15 which will be opened at this time by the action of the rod 15 'of the core 15 "of a double solé; the discharge into the main tank 8 may be operated by the delivery piston 5, as soon as the electrical current to the line is restored.
In the meantime, the delivery pump 5 can nevertheless still fulfill its role of receiver several times, that is to say that in the case of application to brakes, several tightening and releasing may be carried out, thanks to the motive energy stored in the main tank 8.
The capacity of the holding tank 3 will be able to determine the number of operations that can be carried out without reloading the liquid, that is to say that liquid can be admitted into the holding tank until the pressure liquid in this reservoir balances the tension of the spring 10; for this purpose, the liquid discharged into this reservoir can either compress a fluid contained in this reservoir or even push back a spring, or raise a limited stroke mass;
the same result could also be obtained by automatically limiting, for example, the emptying of the main tank so that the air cannot reach the joints of the installation and be lost in part by leaks to the outside.
The operation which has just been defined can be obtained by means of the shutters shown in the drawing.
The displacement of the delivery piston 5 acting as a receiver and driven by the liquid under pressure will be obtained by allowing the shutter 11 to open, the closure of which can, as in the known devices already specified, be obtained electrically by means of a battery. 12. When the thrust obtained on the delivery piston 5 must be moderate, as is the case for the brakes, the solenoid 6 can also be used in a known manner to obtain an adjustable opposing force.
We will be able to. also adjust this action in another known manner by allowing a greater or lesser quantity of liquid to flow through the shutter 11. To this end, it suffices to leave the lever for a longer or shorter time; 13 in position 8 corresponding to the opening of the shutter 11. The displacement of the delivery piston 5 in the opposite direction will be obtained by launching into the solenoid 6 the current of the line L.
For this purpose, the lever 13 is brought into the position D, the current of the battery 12 then excites an electromagnet 36 which causes the closing of the switch 37 of the line current, The switch 9 causing them to oscillate. The discharge functions of the piston 5 is placed in series with said electromagnet 86. The liquid will be delivered directly into the main tank through the automatic valve 14 and the pipe 7.
When the lever is in position D, it places the solenoid controlling the shutter 15 in the circuit of the battery 12, which communicates to the rod 15 'a request to open this shutter. However, the latter will not open if there is current in the main line L, because the same rod 15 'is also controlled by a solenoid permanently connected to said line and opposing this. opening.
If this current were to fail, the shutter would open and the evacuation of the liquid out of the cylinder 4 would be carried out by the simple action of the return spring, the evacuation liquid being directed towards the tank see waiting 3 The delivery piston will take the position shown in solid lines determined by the stop 16 limiting the action of the return spring. As soon as the current appears in the main line, the solenoid 6 will force the delivery piston 5 to first deliver to the main tank 8 the liquid still contained in the cylinder 4.
At the end of this discharge stroke of the pis ton 5, the switch 9 is open and the magnetic action ceases, at this moment the discharge liquid under pressure in the waiting tank 3 by the action of 'air under pressure in the latter or by the action of a spring or a weight, pushes the valve 15 back and moves the discharge piston 5 back until the switch 9 closes the circuit of the solenoid 6 ; the delivery piston will then take an oscillatory movement and will thus discharge the liquid contained in the tank 3 into the main tank;
this oscillatory movement will cease automatically as soon as the pressure of the liquid contained in the holding tank is insufficient to force the piston 5; the slide 18 where the pivot 19 of the part 20 moves is intended to allow the oscillatory movements of the piston 5 without driving the lever 20. It goes without saying that a new action on the lever 13 aimed at obtaining a new operation of the delivery piston 5 as the receiving piston (position 8 ) would, if it were carried out before the waiting tank 3 is emptied, for the simple effect of temporarily stopping the cillatory bone movement piston discharge pressure 5.
In the case which has just been considered, where the delivery piston 5 would have to play intermittently the role of a receiving piston controlling, for example, brakes, it is possible to use at the same time, for other tres Aims, various other receivers connected between the supply line 1 and the discharge line 2. The use of these other receivers is not essential for the application of the invention.
In the case where the delivery piston 5 is used to control the brakes of a vehicle, the other receivers connected between lines 1 and 2 can be used, for example, for the automatic actuation of the doors or the steps of the vehicle or again for any other purpose.
The discharge line 2 of these receivers will flow to the holding tank through an automatic valve 23.
It has been said above that in certain cases the liquid delivered by the delivery piston 5 could be delivered to the main reservoir 8 by an indirect route comprising the discharge pipe 2: To achieve this siderata, it will suffice, during said discharge periods to keep the shutter 21 open while preventing, by means not shown, the valves 23 and 14 from opening under the effect of this discharge.
As has been said, the receptors such as R which can be used are very diverse. The drawing shows one by way of example which has a piston 25 movable in a cylinder 26. This piston may have liquid on both sides. In this case, when it is moved in one direction, for example to the right, by the action of the pressurized liquid coming through the supply duct 1, a distributor 27 and a duct 28, the liquid is discharged. through the conduit 29, the spool 30 of the distributor 27 and the discharge line 2. The piston 25 can be immobilized in any of its positions by bringing the control levers of the two three-way taps 31 or 32, connected to pipes 28 and 29, in position 0 corresponding to the plugging of the pipe.
The piston 25 can be freely moved under the action of an external force, for example a return spring 33, if the two taps 3 1 and 32 are placed in the position I corresponding to the communication of conduits 28 and 29 via junction 34.
The liquid which has been delivered into the discharge pipe 2 can be delivered by the delivery piston 5 directly into the main tank 8 through the pipe 7, or it can be discharged through the discharge pipe 2 and possibly make a stroke in the opposite direction to the receiving piston 25 after the valves 31 and 32 have returned to position II.
A device such as that which has just been described can be applied to the control of gates for railways or vehicle doors or the like.
Particularly in the case of application to the operation of doors, it may be useful to stop the movement of piston 25 at the end of each of its strokes. For example, use may be made for this purpose of the device dried matised in the drawing and according to which the section of ferte to the flow of the liquid in contact with one of the faces of the piston is reduced due to the plugging by the piston. itself from orifices such as 35.
Instead of having its two faces in contact with the liquid, the piston 25 could have only one, the other being in communication with the atmosphere through the intermediary of one of the orifices. 31 'or 32' of the valves 31 respectively 32. It suffices for this that one or the other of the valves 31 or 32 occupies the position III. Consequently, the piston 25 can be moved in one direction, for example to the right, if the valve 32 occupies position III, by the action of the pressurized liquid. The movement in the opposite direction would be obtained by the relaxation of the return spring after the movement of the spool 30 so that the liquid which has entered the cylinder 26 can be discharged through the discharge line 2 and directed towards the reservoir. waiting.
Such a device can, for example, be used to control vehicle brakes.
The embodiment of the device shown in the drawing is established with a view to allowing the realization of various desiderata. In other embodiments of the device, with the aim of allowing only certain of these desiderata to be achieved, simplifications could be made.
The receiver R could be of any type, provided that, during one of the phases of its operation, it delivers liquid which can be directed to the holding tank.
The motor device could include several receivers.
