Method and device for driving a large number of rotating bodies at a high number of revolutions with relatively low resistance. The invention relates to a method and a device for driving a large number of rotating bodies at a high number of revolutions with a relatively low resistance.
The method consists in that through the pulling as well as through the running strand of a stretch-free drive means, for example a steel belt or steel rope, guided tautly over pulleys and driven by at least one of these pulleys, any number of rotating bodies in rows in a straight line in motion by friction is set.
The steel band or steel cable is particularly advantageous as a drive means due to its inextensibility in practical operations.
An excellent area of application for the new process is in the textile industry, for example in spinning and twisting machines.
A schematic sketch of Ausfüh approximately examples of a drive device operating according to this method is shown in the drawing, namely: Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a first embodiment of the drive device, Fig. 2 is a top view of the same, Fig. 3 as a second embodiment a drive for the Spindles of spinning and twisting machines.
In the first example, the dash-dotted lines mean .9. and B (Fig. 1) the axes of rotating bodies c, which are provided on the circumference with soft, for example consisting of rubber, appropriately circular in cross section on position g. This rotating body c, which is arranged in two straight rows, is driven by a steel belt d, which runs over two disks h and is taut. One or both discs h can be driven to serve to drive the steel belt: The rotating body c respectively. the axes of rotation are displaceable transversely to the belt d and can be fixed at any point, for which purpose slots f are arranged in the table top e.
This displaceable arrangement makes it possible to set the rotating bodies exactly opposite the belt and, if necessary, to bring them individually outside of the belt when they are to be stopped.
To press the steel band onto the rotating body, pressure rollers are used, which are also provided with a soft pad on the circumference.
A very large number of axles can be driven in this way in order to achieve the same performance from an arbitrarily large number of working machines.
Of great importance is the fact that this described, many, under Unistän the thousands of drive axles operating drive device runs completely ge noiselessly and even work is done ge, because a noticeable wear does not occur. As indicated, the disengagement and engagement of each rotating body is possible in the simplest possible manner independently of the others.
The soft supports of the rotating body and pressure rollers can, instead of rubber, also consist of another suitable material, for example leather or cork. In Fig. 1 is indicated with dashed lines, as well as the steel band can be provided on both sides with a soft pad, in which case both the driven rotating body c, and the counter rolls o can remain without soft pads. But you can also equip all parts, namely steel belt, driven disks and counter pressure rollers on their friction surfaces with soft pads.
A drive suitable for the spindles of spinning and twisting machines can be seen in FIG. Against the whorls c of the spindles a lies the steel band or steel cable d, which runs over the horizontal disks lt and h 'arranged at both ends of the machine, one of which serves as a drive pulley and the other as a tension pulley.
A pressure roller o is mounted opposite each whorl c, which presses the tape or rope d against the whorl, with a spring acting, for example, on the pressure roller which can be displaced towards the whorl. Whorl and pressure roller are expediently provided with a soft friction ring made of rubber, leather or a similar material.
The pressure rollers can also be replaced by a second row of spindles, the whorls of which lie against the spindle whorls of the first row, the tape or rope being clamped between the two whorls.
In this way, with the same circumference of all whorls, all spindles are equally driven by your belt or rope d so that any difference in the number of revolutions of the individual spindles is avoided. The drive is very simple and cheap, since, for example, the shafts that extend through the entire length of the machines in the old machines have been eliminated.
