Machine for cutting out engraving strips. Machines for cutting fabric strips along an embroidery edge are known. In the most common machines of this type, the embroidered fabric is pulled through an inclined slot, which is formed by the cutting edge of the knife used and a stationary counter plate. The width of the slot is only so large that the unembroidered fabric can just pass through it.
If an embroidery edge hits the counter-plate, the fabric is pulled into the exhibition area in the immediate vicinity and thus cut along the embroidery edge. It is a requirement with these machines that the width of the slot remain constant. In the known machines either stationary knives or rotating disc knives are used ver, which are smaller during regrinding and so after some time no longer match the shape of the counter plate.
The subject of the present invention is a cutting machine with a drum-shaped knife which, due to the drum shape, is not adversely affected by regrinding in its outer shape compared to the effective gant of the counterplate.
In the accompanying drawings, an example embodiment 'of the inven tion is shown, the parts not necessary for understanding the same have been omitted.
1 shows a side view of the machine, FIG. 2 shows a front view of the machine with a partial section through the same, FIG. 3 shows a side view of the drum knife with counterplate and grinding apparatus on a larger scale, FIG the same in the front view, partly in section, Fig. 5 the same in plan, Fig. 6 is a schematic representation of the pivotability of the drum knife.
The machine frame formed by the two shields 1 and 2 with the necessary connections is covered by means of the sheet metal plate 3, which forms a curved fabric support table, from which a little laterally the center of the extension arm 4 connected to shield 1 with the upper rollers 5 and 5a, 6 and 6a and the pressure belts 7 and 7a overlying these rollers protrude. At the sides of the shield 1, the lower rollers 8 and 8a, and 9 and 9a are gela Gert.
Connected to the non-rotatable bushings of the rollers 8 and 9, the guide roller carrier 10 is located on the outer side of the shield 1, while the inner guide roller carrier 10a is firmly connected to the shield 1. The small guide rollers 11 are mounted on the guide roller supports 10 and 10a. In the lower part of the machine frame, the drive shaft 12 with the pulley 13 and the drive rollers 14 and 14a ge superimposed.
On the drive rollers 14 and 14a, the tension rollers 15 and 15a are under spring pressure: The two endless conveyor belts 16 and 16a run over the entire system of the lower Rol len. Also run over the guide rollers 8 and 9, respectively. 8a and 9a and the guide rollers 11 under the conveyor belts 16 and 16a, the two endless steel belts 17 and 17a. In Fig. 2, the transport, pressure and steel belts are not shown for better clarity.
The parts labeled with index a are each on the inside of the shield 1, viewed in Fig. 1 in congruence with the same) be recorded parts on the outside of the shield.
To cut out embroidery strips of different widths, the transport, pressure and steel tapes are adjustable in their distance to one another. For this reason, the drive roller 14 and the tension roller 15, as well as the upper roller 5 leads out very wide, so that the belts can be moved laterally on these rollers. The rollers 8 and 9 with the guide roller carrier 10 and the upper roller 6 are arranged displaceably on their axes. By means of a device, not shown, these roles can be pushed ver 'on their axes and with them the bands 7, 16 and 17.
The eccentrically mounted tensioning rollers 18 and 18a serve to regulate the tension of the upper pressure belts 7 and 7a.
The knife holder according to FIG. 1 is on the flange 19 of the shield 1 with its base plate 20. 3 to 5 fixed in such a way that the support arm 21 with the counter plate 22 protrudes over the table top 3 between the conveyor belts 16 and 16a, while the upper part of the drum knife carrier 24 located below the table top is just in the curvature of the table . For this reason, the curvature of the table 3 and that of the guide roller supports 10 and 10a were designed so
that it is adapted to the elliptical projection in the horizontal direction of the inclined drum knife.
The base plate 20 carries the bearing housing 23, in which the axis of the drum knife carrier 24, which is inclined relative to the horizontal, is mounted on ball bearings, in two journals, pivotable about a vertical axis and vertically adjustable. The drum knife carrier 24 is driven by a cord pulley 25 in the direction shown (FIG. 3). A rotation of the drum knife is not absolutely necessary, since a cutting effect can also be achieved when the knife is stationary.
The drum knife could also be driven by a flexible shaft. On the inner surface of the drum shell (Fig. 4) consisting of a hard, flexible steel band drum knife 26 is attached so that the cross section of the same runs parallel to the drum axis. The cutting edge of the drum knife 26 is expediently a few millimeters, opposite the thin turned out edge of the drum knife carrier 24 of. The support arm 21 is fastened to a tab of the bearing housing 23, which carries the counter plate 22 at the top on a pivot pin.
By adjusting screw 27, the counter plate 22 relative to the support arm 21 pivots easily ge and thereby the slot between the cutting edge of the drum knife 26 and the counter plate 22 can be set. The axis of the drum knife carrier 24 is expediently axially adjustable in its bearings in order to be able to compensate for the difference which is caused by the regrinding and lowering of the drum knife.
In order to be able to regrind the drum knife in the machine and thus to ensure that it runs precisely, the machine was equipped with a grinding device. This device, consisting of a small electric motor 32, carries the emery disk 33 over the air. The grinding device is set to a lateral expansion of the pivot lever 29 provided for pivoting the drum knife carrier 24 so that the grinding device is in its position relative to the drum knife not changed when swiveling the latter. The position of the emery disk 33 relative to the cutting edge of the drum knife 26 can be regulated by means of the adjusting screw 34:
To cut narrow and wide festoons, it is necessary that the entire knife holder with the counter plate can be pivoted without changing its position at the inlet point A (Fig. 6), where the material enters the slot between the knife edge and the counter plate. For this reason, the two bearing journals on the bearing housing 23 are arranged so that the United extension of the axis of these two journals goes through point A (FIG. 6).
To pivot the knife holder, the base plate 20 carries the support 28 below with the pivot lever 29 already mentioned, the pivot point of which is also located in the extension of the pivot pin of the housing 23. The adjusting screw 30, by means of which the knife holder can be adjusted vertically, rests on the pivot lever 29 in order to be able to adjust the height of the knife with respect to the fabric web. The pivot lever 29 can be locked in its position by the wing screw 31.
With the existing machines, after cutting off one of the strips, the worker has to walk around the machine in order to bring the remaining embroidery strips back in front of the machine to cut off further strips. In order to avoid this, the machine drawn is provided with a device which automatically directs the remaining embroidery strips back to the location of the operator. For this purpose, the inclined guide channel 35 with the folding flap 36 is arranged on the front of the machine. While the cut strip falls behind the machine, the strips remaining in one piece are directed through the channel 35 in front of the machine again.
If it is desired that the separated pieces both fall behind the machine, the flap 36 is moved from the position shown (Fig. 1) to the left ge and thereby switched off the guide channel. Instead of the guide channel, an endless conveyor belt running over rollers can also be used. The material to be cut is pulled through as follows: By means of the tension rollers 15 and 15a, the endless conveyor belts 16 and 16a are pressed against the drive rollers 14 and 14a which rotate in the direction shown (Fig. 1), so that the conveyor belts over the whole Move system of associated lower roles.
On the surface of the table, the material to be cut lies on the conveyor belts and is held there by the upper pressure belts 7 and 7a moving along and pulled through the cutting elements of the machine - so that the friction of the conveyor belts 16 and 16a when running over the guide rollers 11 is reduced is, and bending of the conveyor belts on the guide rollers from roller to roller cannot occur, as mentioned, the endless steel belts 17 and 17a are placed over the upper rollers of the lower systems, which participate in the circulation of the conveyor belts there.
