Description

Procédé de préparation d'an mortier à l'aide d'argile.

A process for preparing a mortar using clay. This invention relates to a process for preparing, using clay and without resorting to firing, a mortar forming, by desiccating, impermeable, heat-insulating and sound-insulating bodies, and which, as or added to sand , gravel, organic matter etc. lends itself to carrying out construction work.

According to this process, clay, lime and at least one protein material are mixed.

This process can be carried out, for example, as follows: By diluting clay in water, a very malleable paste is prepared, which is then added to a mixture of lime and protein materials, such as for example casein, albumin, of animal or vegetable origin, fibrin or other analogous materials, in proportions which vary according to the special cases of application.

The mortar thus obtained and dried has, by its lime and casein content, acquired the properties of the latter combination which are: hardness and impermeability, while retaining the properties specific to clay to be a poor conductor of heat and water. his.

Instead of first preparing a clay paste, one could also mix in the pulverulent state the materials entering the mortar and then dilute the mass thus obtained with water until the required consistency is obtained.

To prepare a mortar which is suitable for making agglomerates of all kinds, for example a certain amount of powdered clay is mixed with 1 to 3% of its weight of a mixture of lime and casein also in powder. and this mass is diluted with water.

The mortar thus produced becomes on drying very hard and impermeable. Unlike ordinary mortars, it also agglomerates organic matter, such as for example sawdust and wood chips, cork, bran, peat etc.
