Description

  Lacs figures     clu    dessin     annexé    montrent, à  titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de  l'objet de     l'invention:     La,     fig.    1 en est une vue en élévation;  La     fig.    2 en est une vue en élévation par  tielle montrant le mode d'assemblage des élé  ments;  La     fig.    3 est une vue en perspective par  tielle d'un des éléments intermédiaires;    La     fig.    4 est une vue en perspective par  tielle montrant le mode d'insertion d'un élé  ment intermédiaire entre les éléments al  ternés;

    La fig. 5 est une coupe transversale par tielle par le centre du corps du radiateur montrant les canaux de circulation de l'eau; La fig. 6 est une coupe de détail mon trant la manière ,d'assembler une paire d'élé ments alternés et l'élément intermédiaire.

  Improvement in the assembly of cooling radiator elements known as of the honeycomb type, for motor vehicles. The present invention relates to an improvement in the assembly of cooling radiator elements known as of the honeycomb type, for motor vehicles, said improvement consisting in that at least two elements juxtaposed, formed of semi-hexagonal parts interconnected by rectilinear parts, are assembled together by overlapping their ends so as to form joints, and, moreover, in that between said elements is interposed at least one intermediate element whose curved ends in the form of an angle are inserted into the joints formed by the outer elements.

  Lakes figures clu accompanying drawing show, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention: La, fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof; Fig. 2 is a partial elevational view thereof showing the method of assembling the elements; Fig. 3 is a partial perspective view of one of the intermediate elements; Fig. 4 is a partial perspective view showing the mode of insertion of an intermediate element between the altered elements;

    Fig. 5 is a partial cross section through the center of the radiator body showing the water circulation channels; Fig. 6 is a detail section showing how to assemble a pair of alternate elements and the intermediate element.

  The elements 1 are each composed of a series of semi-hexagonal parts 2 joined by straight intermediate parts 3. The sides of the semi-hexagonal parts are, depressed as indicated in 4, the adjacent elements being thus depressed. alternately outside and inside as shown in fig. 1.

   - In the assembly, the rectilinear part is placed between the depressed vertical sides of the semi-hexagonal elements -cieux -elements as shown in fig. 1 in 5. The inclined sides 6 engage with the inclined sides of the neighboring elements whereby the zigzag-shaped water circulation channels are thus disposed through the radiator as shown. Fig. 5.

    This method of construction is common to the bodies of radiators of the honeycomb type. The present invention refers to the method of assembling the elements, two altered elements 7 and 8 being juxtaposed with an exactly sufficient space between them for the insertion of an element -9 as described above. The alternating elements have their ends assembled and folded together, thus forming the seals 10 above and at the bottom of the radiator body.

   The intermediate elements -9 which are inserted therein have their ends bent in the form of an angle as shown in Figs. 8, 4 and 6 -in 11 .. These elements are, as in fig. 6 shows this more clearly, inserted into the joints 10 where they are held in place.
