Process for making records. The invention aims to produce records with record cores made of cardboard that are free from moisture and air bubbles and consequently from Zersetzungeinwir effects on the record mass. It consists in the fact that the cardboard used as the core is only set to at least the same temperature, at least the same pressure and for at least the same duration, as to unite the record mass and plate core, as well as to press the sound waves into the record mass is necessary, and then the combination of the plate core and the record mass, as well as the pressing in of the sound waves in the heat and with the application of pressure is made.
. The special treatment of the cardboard under at least as high heat and pressure conditions as are necessary for the production of the records from the core and record mass can be done during the manufacture of the cardboard or immediately before the joint processing of the cardboard with the record mass . Heating and pressure can be used one after the other or together. To completely eliminate any degree of moisture, heating in a vacuum can also be used, which in this case is followed by pressing the cardboard panels, which are expediently still hot.
In order to reliably drive air and moisture, which are mainly the causes of defective panels, out of the cardboard, the temperature, pressure or time is advantageously increased by 10 to 30% during the pretreatment. Example:
If it is a matter of processing a record mass that requires heating to 100 C and the application of a pressure of 60 atmospheres for a period of one minute to unite with a plate core, as well as to press in the sound waves, the cardboards are for only exposed to a pressure of at least 60 atmospheres at a temperature of at least 100 ° C, for about 1/4 minutes.
