Description
Overcurrent relay for oil switches with high currents. When arranging high-voltage switches with direct tripping, you need to connect the overcurrent magnet, which usually carries high voltage, with the release parts through an insulation rod of appropriate insulation. This arrangement often leads to very unpleasant malfunctions in operation, since the insulation material to be used has a slightly hygroscopic effect or the mechanical shocks that occur when a short circuit occurs cannot withstand the mechanical impacts with sufficient reliability.
In order to avoid these errors, one can attach the overcurrent magnet to this always earthed part in arrangements in which one uses poured bushings, the middle part of which is made of 11letall, so that all parts of the overcurrent magnets are also earthed. The resulting arrangement is shown in the exemplary drawing. The bushing a has a grounded socket b around which the iron c of the overcurrent magnet d is placed.
The actuating rod e after the release parts f can be made of conductive material.
If the overcurrent reaches a certain size, the conductor part passing through the bushing a will magnetize the part c surrounding it so strongly that it attracts the armature d and triggers the triggering at f through the lug e attached to the latter.
