Plant for dry cooling of coke. The invention relates to a system for dry cooling of coke by means of cooling gases passed through the coke and through a heat exchange device. Its purpose is to prevent explosive burns, which can occur, for example, when cooling insufficiently gasified coke in the coke oven, due to post-gasification in the cooling container and in the cooling gas spaces of the system.
According to the invention, the system is provided with an air inlet element from which the cooling gas flow is fed with fresh air in such a way that the air is burned with the combustible gases present in the cooling gas flow without disrupting operation. The air inlet member is expediently designed to be adjustable.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown schematically on the drawing.
In the coke cooling system with the cooling container a and the steam boiler b, the coke is cooled by the gaseous contents of the container and the boiler heating chamber being conveyed through the fan c and the circulation line e through the coke filled into the container and over the heating surfaces of the boiler is driven, the heat of the hot coke being transferred to the boiler for the purpose of generating steam. The coke is hot by the. closable opening f introduced into the container in order to be withdrawn again from the same after cooling through the closable outlet g.
If the coke was insufficiently gasified in the preceding distillation process, post-gasification of the coke in the cooling container can result in flammable gases, especially hydrogen, which can lead to undesired explosions in the gas-filled rooms of the plant. In order to prevent such explosions, the system is provided with an air inlet element h arranged in the suction nozzle of the blower and with a cooling gas outlet element i arranged in front of the boiler.
The cooling gases are constantly fed through the air inlet element as a result of the negative pressure in the suction nozzle, which, when mixed with the cooling gases, burns the flammable gases in advance and in this way makes it impossible for the latter to accumulate until an explosive mixture is formed . The purpose of the cooling gas outlet element i is to compensate for the increase in the cooling gases that is caused in this way. The cooling gases escape into the open without any problems, since the cooling gas pressure at this point is higher than atmospheric pressure. Both organs are adjusted so that the air supplied is just sufficient to render the flammable gases harmless again.
