Description

Process for the pretreatment of raw materials for the production of cellulose, textile fibers and their intermediate products. It is known that the breaking up of peat, for example, can be made easier by exposing the peat to natural or artificial heating for a longer period of time, or by letting the peat act on the same. Thus, among other things, a method for processing peat for the production of textile material and cardboard is known, which method is that the water contained in the cell interior of the fibers, completely freed by washing from the substances coagulating in the heating, completely freed by washing Heating is brought to expansion.

This procedure only affects the rupture of the cell walls.

The present invention now relates to a process for the pretreatment of raw materials for the production of cellulose and textile fibers and their intermediate products, according to which process the raw materials are first subjected to a chemical bathing process corresponding to the respective nature of the raw material, and then the so- bathed raw materials at a temperature deviating from the usual temperature, for example heat or cold; suspends. This double action on the raw materials means that extensive decomposition is achieved because there is not only a thermal, but also a chemical action.

Wood, peat, straw, reeds and other fibers can be used as raw materials.

Example: Straw is soaked in a lye for six to eight hours. This lye is waste eye, originating from the digestion process for cellulose with, for example, 4% sodium content, of which 3% is used up through digestion, so that only 1% sodium content is left in the lye. After separating the solution, the material is heated to <B> 80 '</B> C in a transport screw.

As a result of this heat process, the goods are partially broken down and preliminary work is carried out which, from an economic point of view, represents an essential pretreatment of the raw materials for the production of cellulose and textile fibers and their intermediate products.

Instead of an alkaline bath, you can also use alkaline chlorine baths or chlorine in gaseous form.

In most cases the process can be started without any leaching of the raw materials.
