Zündkerze. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist eine Zündkerze. Gemäss der Erfindung ist zwischen den beiden durch einen Isolier- körper getrennten Elektroden mindestens ein Metallstück am Isolierkörper angeordnet, das zwischen den beiden Elektroden eine Brücke bildet, derart, dass zwei Funkenstrecken zwi schen jeder Seite dieser Brücke und einer der Elektroden gebildet werden.
Auf der beiliegenden Zeichnung ist eine Ausführungsform des Erfindungsgegenstandes in zwei Figuren beispielsweise dargestellt, von denen Fig. 1 eine Aussenansicht, Fig. 2 einen Längsschnitt durch die Zünd kerze zeigt.
In der äussern Elektrode 1 ist der Isolier- körper 2 mit der mittlern Elektrode 3 durch die, Mutter 4 unter Zwischenlage der Ringe 5 befestigt; das untere Ende 3' der mitt- lern Elektrode und das ringförmige Ende 1' der äussern Elektrode sind auf diese Weise voneinander getrennt. An dem Isolierkörper 2 ist ein ringförmiges Stück 6 befestigt mit zwei Paaren von Spitzen 6' und 6", von denen 6' gegen das Ende 1' der äussern Elektrode und 6" gegen die mittlere Elek trode gekehrt ist, derart, . dass "für -jedes Spitzenpaar 6' und 6" zwei getrennte Funken strecken entstehen.
Es ist ersichtlich, dass die gezeichnete Zündkerze mit mehrfacher Funkenstrecke in der Herstellung nur wenig von bekannten Zündkerzen abweicht und überaus einfach und billig anzufertigen ist. Gegenüber den bekannten Zündkerzen hat sie jedoch den grossen Vorteil, die Zündung bedeutend sicherer zu gestalten und ein Aussetzen der Zündung infolge Verschmutzung, Olüber- schuss oder Kurzschluss zu vermeiden.

It can be seen that the illustrated spark plug with multiple spark gaps differs only slightly in production from known spark plugs and is extremely simple and inexpensive to manufacture. Compared to the known spark plugs, however, it has the great advantage of making the ignition significantly safer and of avoiding ignition failure due to contamination, excess oil or short circuit.
