Device for checking the heel line and for blowing the ridge height of shoe lasts. It often happens that in the shoe lasts coming from the shoe last factories, the heel line of the lasts is faulty, in that the curvature of the last is either too large or too small.
The first-mentioned error has the consequence that the heel part of the shoe made according to such a last becomes too wide, so that the wearer's foot does not find sufficient support in such a shoe and the foot is chafed:
The consequence of the latter defect is that the heel portion of the shoe is too tight and cuts into the wearer's heel. It is difficult to unfasten shoes that are afflicted with such defects, and it often happens when the shoe lasts are removed that the shoes are torn.
This overhang is to be remedied by the present invention. The same applies to a device for checking the heel line and for measuring the crest height of shoe lasts, and the novelty of the device is that it consists of two articulated arms that together form an angle and have the means . so as to display the course of the heel line in relation to the sole path as well as the crest height of shoe lasts.
On the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject invention is shown in a view.
The device shown has an arm a, one end of which is connected to one end of the arm c by means of rivets b. One longitudinal edge of arm a is curved to match the heel line of a normal shoe last and has a scale. The end of arm a facing away from rivet b. is marked with a scale e.
With the end of the arm c facing the arm a, one end of the pointer f is connected, the other end of which corresponds to the scale e.
The use of the device described is as follows: Assuming that you want to perform on a shoe and check whether the heel line of the same is in the correct position in relation to the sole, the device is placed on the shoe last, as shown in the drawing in such a way that the sole sheet of the shoe last comes to rest on the arm c of the device, while the s:
The long edge of the arm is placed against the heel line of the last. If this heel line has defects, i. H. If the curve is too strong or too small in relation to the sole path, arm a is rotated around rivet b by the corresponding amount when it is placed against the heel line, where pointer f shows the difference on scale e. The last can then be leveled by sanding down the heel line accordingly.
The height of the ridge of the shoe can be measured using the scale d provided on arm a.
The device described has the advantage of simplicity and ease of use.
