Messer. Bei den heutigen Messern sitzt das Heft meist auf einem nach dem freien Ende zu sich verjüngenden Dorn und ist darauf durch eine Kitt- oder Bleifüllung oder mittelst Quer nieten befestigt. Diese Anordnung gibt zu allerlei Übelständen Anlass'. Der sich ver jüngende Dorn ist nicht stark genug, um Ver biegungen standzuhalten, und die Füllung erfährt nicht selten eine Lockerung, so dass das Heft seinen festen Halt verliert, während bei Quernieten zuweilen ein Abscheren der selben vorkommt.
Diese Übelstände sollen beim Gegenstand der Erfindung vermieden werden. Das c vor- liegende Messer zeigt die Eigentümlichkeit, dass das Heft ohne Füllung auf einen sich nicht verjüngenden durchgehenden Dorn satt aufgepresst, und dass auf einen Gewindeteil des Dornes ein massiver, mit einer Anzugs fläche gegen das Heft versehener Metallkopf derart aufgeschraubt ist, dass das Heft auch gegen den Metallkopf verspannt ist.
Ausser- licll kann der Metallkopf so ausgebildet sein, dass er den Eindruck einer Metallkappe er weckt; zudem ist es zweckmässig, ihn derart massiv zu wählen, dass er zur Klinge des Mes- sers ein Übergewicht bildet, um die Klinge des Messers von der Unterlage .abstehen zu lassen.
Die beiliegende Zeichnung veranschau licht ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungs gegenstandes.
Das Heft a, das zum Beispiel aus Hart gummi oder Zelluloid bestehen kann, ist ohne Füllung auf einen sich nicht verjüngenden durchgehenden zylindrischen, mit Rauhungen versehenen Dorn b satt a.ufgepresst, an dessen freiem Ende ein Schraubengewinde c ange bracht ist. Auf diesen Gewindeteil des Dor- nes ist ein massiver, mit einer Anzugsfläche gegen das Heft versehener Metallkopf d, etwa aus Neusilber oder Nickel, der die Ini tialen oder ein sonstiges Kennzeichen des Besitzers tragen kann, derart aufgeschraubt, dass das Heft auch gegen den Metallkopf ver spannt ist.
Die Anzugsfläche des Metall kopfes d bildet ein konischer Ansatz d1; dieser ist in einen entsprechend konischen Sitz des Heftes a hineingeführt.
Bei dem gezeichneten Beispiel reicht die Stärke des Dornes aus, um ein Biegen dessel ben im normalen Gebrauch des Messers zu verhindern. Selbstverständlich ist auch ein Brechen des Dornes für diesen normalen Ge brauch des Messers ausgeschlossen.
Das Heft ist im gezeichneten Falle an bei den Enden durch massives Metall beschützt, so dass es dort kaum beschädigt werden kann.
Der massive Metallkopf d ist schwer genug, um durch Übergewicht die Klinge des auf einer Unterlabe liegenden Messers von dieser Unterlabe abstehen zu lassen.
Die Pressung zwischen Metallkopf d und Heft u ist zweckmässig eine derart intensive, dass selbst bei Zusammenschrumpfen des Hef tes a, z. B. eines Zelluloidheftes, ein Lockern desselben gegenüber dem hopf d vermieden wird.
Ein Messer, wie in der Zeichnung gezeigt, kann auch in kochendem Wasser bereinigt werden, ohne dass das Heft sich löst, und, wenn dieses aus Hartgummi besteht, ohne dass das Heft verkrümmt wird.
