Description
Apparatus for producing sweet gas solutions, in particular carbon dioxide solutions for making sparkling drinks.
The subject of the present invention forms an apparatus for the production of liquid gas solutions, in particular carbon dioxide solution for the preparation of sparkling drinks. It has a liquid container provided with a gas feed line, in which a stirrer is arranged, which rises and lowers automatically when the gas enters and thereby distributes the gas introduced into the liquid.
An example of an embodiment of the subject of the invention is illustrated in vertical section on the accompanying drawing.
A liquid container has a cylinder jacket a. On this sits a cover b, which is connected to the jacket a by plumbing or in some other way. The cylinder jacket a is threaded at the bottom and screwed to a base c, against which it is sealed by a packing ring d. A channel e leading through the base c for the supply of the liquid opens into the liquid container.
Furthermore, a connecting sleeve f is let into a central bore in the bottom c. It has a flange g, which rests on the base c by means of an interposed pack h. On a threaded stud protruding through the central hole in the base c na, anyway below. A nut le is screwed onto the socket, which holds the socket on the bottom c. The threaded connector i is connected by a union nut I with a gas supply pipe m.
A pipe n projecting into the container is connected to the sleeve f. A movable tube o is guided on tube n. A threaded head p, to which a valve housing q is screwed, is firmly seated at the top. A square piston rod r is guided vertically in the tube 51. At the top it carries a valve piston s which, in its lowest position, rests on the top end of the tube n, while a cylindrical guide pin t protruding beyond the valve piston protrudes through an axial bore in the valve housing uses q.
This through-hole has an enlargement v adjoining the valve seat u, into which two gas distribution pipes w open, one end parts of which are let into two transverse bores of the valve housing q.
Eight rings consisting of radially arranged screw blades x are attached to the tube o and form an agitator.
The device described has the following modes of use and operation:
The liquid container is filled with water or another liquid up to approximately the level shown in dash-dotted lines. The level of the liquid can conveniently be checked by a device attached to the container (but not shown). Now in the apparatus filled with liquid is compressed gas, for. B. carbonic acid, introduced through the tube M. The pressure of the gas raises the piston rod r with the valve housing and the agitator until the guide pin t is present on the cover b. The highest position of the valve piston is indicated separately in the drawing.
As a result of the inertia of the agitator, the valve housing q moves upwards by a small amount. At this moment the gas penetrates through the valve seat u into the expansion v, where it presses the valve housing further upwards, so that a wide passage opening is created between the valve piston and valve seat for the exiting gas, which through the pipes w in the liquid escapes. The reduction in pressure in the gas supply line when the gas escapes causes the valve piston and agitator to drop, which is followed by an increase in pressure when the valve piston and agitator are raised.
The agitator raises and lowers it incessantly during the entire duration of the gas supply, whereby the liquid is stirred by the screw blades x and as a result a good dissipation of the same with the introduced gas is achieved.
The lifting and lowering of the agitator could possibly also be done in a different way than the one described. It could, for example, be lifted by the gas pressure and then pushed downwards by the force of a spring when the pressure is now reduced. Likewise, instead of the screw blades, another device for mixing the liquid can be provided.
