Machine monotype.
La première colonneà composer me surant3 cm, nous nous trouvons avec une différence de5 cmà retrancher; cette opé ration se fait en se servant du dispositif montré en fig. 3. A la portée de la main de l'opérateur, pi-ès du mécanisme niesureur de ligues, se trouve le boutonE qu'il tireraà fond pour faire agirC de façonà immobiliser la tige À arrêtant uniquement J'avancément du pa pier tout en laissant libre le mécanisme me- sureur de ligues;
One-design machine. The present invention relates to a one-design machine of the kind in which the advancement mechanism of the tape recorder is controlled by a lever on which two air cylinders act. tablet whose distribution device # is under the control of the universal saddle bar. This machine is characterized by a locking member of the above-indicated6 lever placed under the control of a piston moving in a cylinder in which compressed air can be sent, this cylinder being able to be put manually pressurized, which brings and maintains said member in the locking position and causes the stopping of the advancement mechanism of the recording tape.
The accompanying drawing shows it, to by way of example and partially an embodiment, FIG. 1 is an elevational view of the tape recorder advancement mechanism of the machine while fig. 2 and 4 are elevations of the compressed air control device of this mechanism, FIG. 2 showing this device from the front and FIG. 4, from the side, from left to right in fig. 2. FIG. 3 shows a detail.
The above-mentioned control device has two cylinders G and F intended to receive pressurized air and in which they move pistons each articulated at one end of a lever H. A this lever is connected to the lower end of the rod To the upper end of which is connected to the advancement mechanism of the tape recorder.
Between the cylinders G and F is placed a distribution mechanism R placed, under the control of a lever L which moves through the organ M whenever the universal bar of the machine à has been activated by moving any key on its keyboard. All this control device is moreover well known and commonly used in monotypes; it will therefore not be described in more detail. J is a console which is fixed to the frame of the machine and on which the locking lever K. is rotatably mounted in K '.
The end B of this one is placed under the dependence of a piston Dl moving in the cylinder D come from cast iron with the console; its end B 'is placed above the lever H, approximately opposite the point where this lever is attached to the piston of the cylinder G. The bottom of the cylinder B has two openings, one communicating < B> to open air and must be with the source of compressed air. The shutter Q , controlled by by hand by means of the button E, makes it possible alternately to close one and to open the other of its openings.
When the cylinder D is placed in communication with the free air, the lever K is not in the locking position and the device F CTH works as if the K D device does not exist. On the other hand, when, as a result of the displacement of the shutter 6, the cylinder D is put in junction with the source of compressed air, the piston < B> Dl is raised and brings the lever K to the locked position, a position in which its end B acts on H and keeps the recording mechanism of the tape recorder stopped.
This makes it possible to compose a line formed by sections each having a different length.
Suppose the operator has to execute an array with four columns covering me: the third column 3 centimeters, 7 3-1 51 41ne < B> 8 The operator must set the line measuring mechanism to the longest, that is to say the fourth or 8 cm.
The first column to compose me on 3 cm, we are with a difference of 5 cm to cut off; this operation is carried out using the device shown in fig. 3. A within easy reach of the operator, near the league insurer mechanism, is the E button that it will pull to bottom to make C act so to immobilize the rod À stopping only I advance of the pa pier while leaving free the measuring mechanism of leagues;
then, by means of the keys of the keyboard designated to this effect, he will activate the mechanism of the 5 cm leagues that he has in too much, then it will push back the E button which will release the paper. The line measurer being strictly at its starting point, for the first column to be executed, the operator will compose and justify his line as a line of ordinary text.
The second column measuring 7 cm and the league measuring mechanism being returned immediately after the justification of the above column to its starting point, that is to- say 8 cm, we find ourselves with a difference of one cm to subtract. The operator will repeat the same operation as for the rst column, with the difference that he will only have a centimeter to subtract; the third column will be executed like the two preceding ones; the fourth column will be stuck without the intervention of C since the row measurer is set to 8 cm.
In summary, the device described allows the the operator to change justification as and as as the demands of the work to be performed. All the difficulty up to now residing in the change of justification, we can conclude that the composition of a table is as easy to to carry out with the device described as a running text.
