Sicherheitsventil.
Safety valve. The present invention is a safety valve for pressure vessels that is used with advantage in particular special for electric boilers. Valves with a metal seal very soon become leaky, since even very small impurities on the valve seat make a tight seal impossible. Valves with rubber seals initially hold tight, but are quickly deformed by the spring or weight acting on them; often the rubber seal remains firmly attached to the valve seat, so that the pressure inside the boiler reaches a multiple of the allowable pressure before the safety valve opens.
From the valve according to the present invention, an exemplary embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawing.
In the drawing: Fig. 1 shows a section through the safety valve; Fig. 2 is a plan view. The valve shown has a housing 1 which is to be screwed onto a nozzle of the pressure vessel with a nozzle 2 and which is connected to the interior of the pressure vessel through the nozzle. In Ge housing 1, a piston 3 is slidably arranged. The piston 3 has a leather sleeve 4 which is pressed against a disk 8 of the piston 3 by means of a nut and a cap 5. The piston 3 has a spindle 6 which is slidably guided in a bore of a nut 7.
The nut 7 is screwed into the housing 1. Between the nut 7 and the washer 8 of the piston 3 there is a spring 9 which strives to hold the piston 3 in the position shown in FIG. In this position, the piston 3 rests on the connecting piece 2 by means of the cap 5. The cap 5 has lateral openings which allow the pressure in the pressure vessel to act on the leather sleeve 4 and press it against the inner wall of the housing 1. Above the sleeve 4, radial bores 11 are provided in the housing 1, which open out on the outside into a hollow ring which fits well onto the housing 1 and which is provided with a drain connection 13.
The nut 7 is adjustable in the housing 1 in order to be able to adjust the pressure of the spring 9. An end cap 14 is seated over the nut 7.
The mode of operation is as follows: If the pressure in the pressure vessel rises above the permissible limit, the piston 3 is raised against the action of the spring 9. The water can exit through the bore 11 in the hollow ring 12 and through. the nozzle 13 run off. By adjusting the nut 7, the pressure at which the pressure valve opens can be changed within wide limits.
