Abstract

Un joint d'étanchéité est représenté qui est utilisé pour sceller l'ouverture d'extrémité emboîtée d'un tuyau femelle en fer malléable à un tuyau mâle apparié présentant une surface intérieure et une surface extérieure. Le corps de joint annulaire est installé à l'intérieur d'un chemin de roulement disposé dans la région d'embouchure du tuyau femelle en fer malléable de sorte qu'une région circonférentielle extérieure forme un joint avec la région d'embouchure de tuyau femelle et qu'une région circonférentielle intérieure forme une surface d'étanchéité pour la surface extérieure du tuyau mâle apparié. La bande de renforcement présente un corps circonférentiel qui est fait d'un polymère synthétique dont la dureté est supérieure à celle du matériau élastomère du reste du corps de joint.
