Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de détection d'une réaction aluminothermique dans une cellule électrolytique comprenant un ensemble anode d'une ou plusieurs anodes contenant un oxyde métallique. Chaque ensemble anode est alimenté par un courant fourni par une tige anodique distincte pour chaque ensemble anode. Le procédé comprend : la mesure d'une chute de tension à l'aide d'une paire de sondes de tension situées sur la tige d'anode, la chute de tension correspondant à un flux de courant dans l'ensemble anode ; le traitement de la chute de tension en calculant au moins la dérivée de la chute de tension, la variance de la chute de tension et/ou la dérivée de la variance de la chute de tension ; et la détection d'une réaction aluminothermique sur la base des résultats du traitement du signal, avant d'atténuer et/ou de supprimer la réaction aluminothermique en ajustant les paramètres opérationnels de la cellule électrolytique. Ce procédé est particulièrement avantageux, car il réduit d'un facteur 10 le nombre de chutes de tension nécessaires à la détection d'une réaction aluminothermique.
