Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes de traitement des eaux usées qui ne génèrent aucun rejet liquide en continu. Ces procédés comprennent le prétraitement des eaux usées provenant de toute source d'eau contaminée pour éliminer les métaux lourds, l'ultrafiltration des eaux usées prétraitées pour éliminer les solides en suspension et les particules colloïdales, la nanofiltration des eaux usées ultrafiltrées pour obtenir de l'eau traitée (avec des ions monovalents) et un concentré, le traitement du concentré pour éliminer les éléments di- et trivalents et d'autres composés du concentré, et pour réduire la teneur en sulfates à un niveau déterminé qui est supérieur au taux de solubilité des sulfates ? pour obtenir de l'eau de retour et une boue, en mélangeant l'eau de retour avec les eaux usées acheminées avant la première étape de traitement ou au cours de celle-ci et/ou avec les eaux usées prétraitées avant l'ultrafiltration, et l'élimination des eaux résiduelles des boues pour obtenir des solides éliminés sans aucun rejet liquide. Avantageusement, les procédés et systèmes de l'invention sont efficaces, moins coûteux et plus durables que les systèmes de l'état de la technique.
