Abstract

The wall crane is used to raise a wall from horizontal to a vertical position.
The crane has a base,a Post divided into 5 segments, which are assembled together using them as required by the height of the wall, connected to the base and a double pulley, one connected adjacent to the top of the post and one connected in apparatus which connects to the wall, has a powered hoist or hand winch in the segment closest to the base, the cable goes up to the pulley top and lower to the apparatus connected to the wall and anchored at the top of the segment furthest from the base by reeling the hook toward the hoist or hand winch the wall is raised,a catch is connected to the post and engages the wall when it has been raised to a vertical position to prevent the wall from toppling over backward away from the crane.

Description

DESCRIPTION
This invention relates to equipment used in the construction of housing and more particularly to a powered wall crane for raising a preformed wall to a vertical position.
The usual practice in the construction of the walls of a house is to assemble the frames for the walls on a level horizontal surface such as a floor or the ground the frame is then raised from the horizontal to vertical position and connected in place by wood brace ,bolt or the like. The frame is then prepared for wall boards such as dry wall panels and finally the wall boards are attached to the frame.
The frames for wall are hevy particularly when the frames are long and very tall it is conventional for a crew of men to raise the frames from the horizontal to vertical positions.
When the frame is vertical it is braced to prevent it from toppling over.
I have invented a wall crane which does away with the need for a crew of men to raise a wall frame. The crane is powered by hoist or hand winch and can be operated by one individual, the crane is portable and can be assembled by hand where needed and dismantled and removed again by hand.
Briefly the wall crane of the invention serves to raise a wall to a vertical position, 100%
surpassing any patent device to date to lift walls, comprising; a base which contains a second swivel base whit automatic lock, a base having means by which the base can be made stationary, a post (5 segments) pivotally connected to the base, a pulley(you can add one more pulley to increase the capacity of the crane) connect to the post a point spaced apart from the base, a hook for securing a wall, a hoist or hand winch and a cable extending from the hoist or hand winch to the hook, the wall crane has stop means for selectively preventing pivotal movement of the post relative to the base, the wall crane further may have a catch connect to the post for engaging the wall and preventing further raising thereof.
The wall crane of my invention is described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which;
FIG; 1 is a perspective view of the wall crane in conjunction with the frame of a wall resting on the ground.
FIG; 2 is a perspective view of the wall crane in enlarged scale.
FIG; 3 is a side view of the wall crane and a wall resting on the ground.
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-05-04 FIG; 4 is a perspective view the crane and the wall raised to an angle of about 45 degrees from the ground, FIG; 5 is a perspective view of the crane and the wall raised to a fully upright position.
Like reference characters refer to like parts throughout the drawings.
Whit reference to FIG; 1 the wall crane generally 10 comprises a cinco post (a,b,c,d,e) a pulley14 adjacent to the upper end of the 12E post. A base16 is at the opposite end of the post a swivel base17 adjacent to base16, the crane is anchored to a stationary floor18 on which the frame of a wal119 rest a pulley whit hook20 for additional capacity, apparatus hook21 for to join crane to wall.
Whit reference FIG; 2 the base22 has axle bolt50 a botton swivel wa1123 and a pair of side wa11s24,25, which extended normally upward from the bottom wall and which are disposed on opposite sides of post 12a. a pair of braces26,27 is provided for supporting each side wall.
The botton wall has a number of apertures28 formed in it for receipt of nail so that the base an be anchored to floor18 or to some other stationary objet.
Side wa11s24,25 are connect to the post12a by one permanent bolt29.so that the post may pivoted relative to the walls. whit automatic 1ock30 The post 12(a,b,c,d,e) are attached to a subpost 12(f,g,h,i) that serves as an assembly whit automatic lock31(a,b,c,d,e) The post 12e has in the top a pair of side wa1132,33, which hold a pu11ey33, by means of a bolt34.
Crane wall has an powered hoist39 or hand winch39 fixed to a base40 wich is fixed to the post12a by means of a bolt41 that closes automatically.
The pair side wa1132,33 is has four bolt in its four corners that keep the cab1e42 inside the pulley33 The cab1e42 leaves the hoist39 or hand winch39 towards pu11ey33 and goes down towards pulley whit hook43. Continues until it anchors in bolt37.
The apparatus44 is connected to the wall to be lifted, which is fitted whit the securing bolt45 the pulley whit hook43 is connected to the apparatus44 by means of bolt46, the apparatus has bearings47 which serve to slide along all post12(A,B,C,D,E) , Date Recue/Date Received 2021-05-04 Accesory ho1der48 for special walls.
The brake49 is a apparatus movable according to the height of the wall that prevents the wall from moving away from ninety degrees which is its correct position.
The general. The apparatus44 is connected to the wal119 in its horizontal state, the base22 is anchored to the floor18 the post12(a,b,c,d,e) are coupled as requerid by the height of the wal119 that it goes from one feet to fourteen feet in height and from one feet to sixty feet long and weighs no more than three thousand six hundred pounds, the cab1e42 is passed through the pu11ey33 and follows the pu11ey43 and is anchored in the bolt37, the pulley is anchored with hook43 on the fixture44 on the bolt46, the hoist39, is activated the cab1e42 pulls the wal119 until it is in vertical position of ninety degrees, apparatus49 prevent the wall from exceeding the vertical position of ninety degrees.
Once the wall is vertical it is braced by conventional means to prevent it from moving, the hook is then raised by the hoist to remove it from contact with the wall and the post is swing back to the vertical position and out of contact with the wall.
