Abstract
Gas Monitor Tube Line Adjustable Protective Shielding Device is a device used for the purpose of protecting a Gas Monitor Tube Air Line and Filter tip from being blocked, obstructed, damaged or compromised.
This device is to be used in conjunction with an air monitoring device (Gas Monitor), during any or all confined space work activities. It is of our belief that this device will help to keep the Gas Monitor Tube Line Filter Tip and Gas Monitor Hose Line Tube from being obstructed or damaged.
As depicted in the drawings, this will be accomplished by the Gas Monitor Attendant being able to adjust the tube line filter tips vertical height/depth when needed for proper filter tip placement, so as to prevent the filter tip from coming into contact/touching surfaces that may contain, particles/debris such as dirt, dust, liquids, rust particles, etc. that can enter interfere and obstruct/block the tube filter air flow thereby unwittingly activate the monitor alarm which may cause worker evacuation, work stoppage, worker down time and the need to recalibrate, replace or repair of gas monitors.
The Gas Monitor Tube Line Protective Shielding Device can also be affixed/secured and positioned to the confined space manway to prevent damage such as pinching, kinking, cuts, etc., to the airline tube due to materials, tools, equipment and workers entering and exiting confined space manways.

Description
SPECIFICATION
We truly believe as Petitioners that this new concept and design named Gas Monitor Tube Line Adjustable Protective Shielding Device is worthy for a public patent under our patent procedures, acts and laws.
We also believe our device to be something confined space monitoring attendants can and would like to use in conjunction with a confined space gas monitor.
We believe by making the Gas Monitor Tube (Line Adjustable Protective Shielding) Device to be known as (LAPS) going forward available to the workplace, that it can help protect the gas monitor tube line from damage and prevent the filter tip from coming into contact/touching any unwanted surfaces that may contain, particles/debris such as dirt, dust, liquids, rust particles, etc. that can enter, interfere and obstruct/block the tube filter air flow thereby unwittingly activate the gas monitor alarms which may cause worker evacuation, work stoppage, worker down time and the need to recalibrate, replace or repair of the confined space gas monitor.
The LAPS can also be affixed/secured and positioned to the confined space manway access opening to prevent loss of ambient air flow to the confined space gas monitor device by helping the tube air filter to stay clear and clean from confined space surfaces thus preventing unnecessary gas monitor alarms from activation and also preventing any damage due to pinching, kinking, cuts, etc., to the gas monitor airline tube due to not having this protective device (LAPS) in place at all times for material handling, tool and equipment transfers and confined space workers entering and exiting confined space manways.
EMBODIMENT
The embodiments of the invention, which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows.
1. In combination, named and claimed as LAPS Gas Monitor Tube (Line Adjustable Protective Shielding) Device. This device is used to prevent particles from entering and obstructing the gas monitor air tube line.
We truly believe as Petitioners that this new concept and design named Gas Monitor Tube Line Adjustable Protective Shielding Device is worthy for a public patent under our patent procedures, acts and laws.

2. The LAPS will be put in position to protect the air monitor tube line from damage and prevent the filter tip from coming into contact/touching any unwanted surfaces that may contain, particles/debris such as dirt, dust, liquids, rust particles, etc. that can enter, interfere and obstruct/block the tube filter air flow thereby unwillingly activate the gas monitor alarm which may cause worker evacuation, work stoppage, worker down time and the need to recalibrate, replace or repair the confined space gas monitor. The LAPS will consist of materials such as plastic and/or composite as mentioned in the Patent Abstract.
3. The name LAPS as claimed in Claim 1, a special type of protective safety shielding device as claimed in the Abstract and Specifications whereas this said LAPS device is used to prevent damage, airline hose blockage and disruption of work thereby creating a more productive work day.
4. The LAPS device as claimed in Claims 1 and 2 whereas this protective safety shielding device is secured/attached or clamped to a confined space manway entrance bolt hole or other, to prevent the air hose filter tip from coming into contact with any unwanted confined space dirty surfaces, also keeping workers entering and exiting the confined space manway from sitting on or interfering with air tube line.
This device will also protect the gas monitor air hose line from tool placement, materials and equipment transfer to and from manway.
This device will also protect the gas monitor air hose line from tool placement, materials and equipment transfer to and from manway.
5. The LAPS device as claimed in Claims 1, 2 & 3 whereas with the name LAPS
and its connecting affixing/clamping or other attaching method combined with the LAPS assembly when necessary shall be used to secure the LAPS to the manway flange or other. I.e. when or where the LAPS cannot be secured to the manway entrance bolt hole etc.
