Abstract
La présente invention concerne un procédé de dessalage du pétrole brut. Le procédé consiste à mélanger un pétrole brut partiellement déshydraté, comprenant moins de 10 % en volume d'eau et au moins un contaminant extractible à l'eau, avec un fluide de lavage aqueux. On obtient une émulsion eau-dans-huile. L'émulsion eau-dans-huile est introduite dans une première zone de coalescence définie par un premier récipient. Le premier récipient est conçu de façon à appliquer un champ électrique à l'émulsion. L'émulsion eau-dans-huile est rompue à l'intérieur de la première zone de coalescence en présence du champ électrique dans des conditions d'écoulement dynamique pour obtenir un pétrole brut partiellement dessalé et une solution salée aqueuse non émulsifiée. Le pétrole brut partiellement dessalé et la solution salée aqueuse non émulsifiée sont ensuite séparés l'un de l'autre dans des conditions d'écoulement dynamique pour produire un pétrole brut partiellement dessalé, séparé, comprenant moins de 1 % en volume d'eau.
