Description

Functional Athletic Grip Sock A knitted commodity worn similarly to a sock. The socks have cut outs in definitive anatomical landmarks of the ball and heel of the foot. Designed to give a barefoot experience for warranted pleasure and functionality.
Heretofore, socks intended to be made for movement exercise that have intended to provide nonslip bottoms have sticky mat like material to grip the floor or mat with.
Also, socks with toe cut outs made to provide a grip from the toes.
The present invention is specially deigned to provide a grip on a floor, mat, sticky mat and/or apparatus by means of specific cut outs made on the anatomical structures of the ball and heel of the foot, allowing for the bare foot to make contact to the direct surface. The skin at the bottom of the foot contains millions of nerve fibres to help us maintain our balance. But also is naturally awarded to hold a grip where a regular sock cannot.
The sock is made of natural and synthetic fibres. The cut outs are sized and secured by a technique to fit comfortably and securely snug around these anatomical landmarks of the ball and heel. The technique also successfully allows for the openings to take shape around the predominant features of the ball and heel as individual's feet have unique characteristics. The added toe and arch support helps to keeps the sock comfortably secured on the foot as well.
The sock can be made at ankle height to knee height. The sock can be made so that the toes are covered to keep cold toes warm, also a layer of grip like material can be added to the bottoms of the toes onto the fabric to add grip for the toes as well. Sticky material can be added on the inside area of where the toes lay for maximum non slip experience. The socks with covered toes also help hide unkept feet and embarrassing toe nail ailments or issues. They can also be made with individual toes covered separately, or toes exposed. The sock can be made in different sizes to fit comfortably and work to function with the intended use.
The invention when used on a floor for walking or movement allows for a natural grip using the bottom flesh of the foot.
This gives a sense of security from the intended bare part of the foot.
Whether it be for; a child learning to walk, movement such as dance or gymnastics, Or an elderly person that feels the safety in having the ball and heel exposed to the floor directly. Others might wear the socks to cool a heated foot. Wearing the socks in shoes or boots gives the barefoot feeling that someone might enjoy, and create a nonslip surface within the shoe or boot.
Populations would benefit wearing the socks while doing any type of movement on a mat, sticky mat or apparatus. Many people start a pilates, yoga or martial arts class with socks on if they usually prefer to wear socks. Performing certain exercises wearing regular socks will twist and turn onto the foot itself as the bottom of the sock grips to the mat but the sock slides on the foot itself. Regular socks also slide off the foot durning movements such as going into downward dog or even holding plank position or transitioning between the two. In standing postures when the foot must hold in place for balance the exposed skin of the bottom of the foot allows for a more grounded feel. In martial arts one must feel secure with one foot on the ground while kicking the other in the air. Being able to keep the toes covered and warm and not being interrupted by twisting, torquing and falling off socks during exercise is a commodity in it's class.
Further, It is apparent that the 'Barefoot Sock', or 'Functional Sock' has a number of advantages.
From wearing the socks around the house, to providing a hygienic alternative in an athletic environment, to giving a sense of security of having connectedness to the surface from under the foot. But are not limited to the above mentioned statements.
For Comfort, for pleasure, functionality and security!
