Abstract
A multi-functional clothing garment which can be worn in many ways and styles, as a piece of clothing alone or as an accessory. The garment has a body having a tubular structure of approximate arm span length with a horizontal opening on one side approximately at the mid-length. The garment can be knitted into a tubular shape or can be sewn into the shape and/or along the edges and the openings. Being made from a stretchable material, the garment can fit well on the wearer's body and can have many configurations, some of them being, but not limited to a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero, or pants.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL CLOTHING GARMENT
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to the clothing sector, and more particularly to a multi-functional clothing garment that can be worn in many ways and styles.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
EP 2 400 865 B1 describes a piece of clothing comprising a tubular fabric that can be worn in different ways, which has two opposite open ends (3A, 3B), a first pair of oppositely disposed slits (5A and 6A) and a second pair of oppositely disposed slits (5B
and 6B). The first and second pairs of oppositely disposed slits are oriented transverse with respect to the length of the tubular fabric and are located at the same position with respect to the corresponding ends (3A, 3B) of the tubular fabric.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the clothing sector, and more particularly to a multi-functional clothing garment that can be worn in many ways and styles.
It is practical for one to have a single garment available, especially when travelling, which can be easily converted into different types of clothing or accessories that are needed for different occasions and weather conditions. The present invention provides a simple clothing garment that functions in this manner.
In one aspect, the present invention provides a clothing garment comprising a body having an upper section, a central section and a lower section, the body having a generally tubular structure and an overall approximate arm span length, wherein the body has a slit disposed on one side of the body along the central section at an orientation transverse to the length of the body, and wherein the body is made of stretchable fabric and can be knitted or sewn into a shape and/or sewn along a plurality of edges and openings.
In examples of the clothing garment of the present invention, the slit can have a width of half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, a width of greater than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, or a width of less than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
In another example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the slit is disposed approximately at the mid-length position of the body.
In a further example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the body has only one slit disposed along the central section.
In even further examples of the clothing garment of the present invention, i) the upper and the lower sections are made of different fabrics on an inside or outside of the garment, ii) the upper and the lower sections have different colours on an inside or outside of the garment, or iii) the upper and the lower sections have different patterns on an inside or outside of the garment, or a combination thereof.
In another example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the clothing garment can be reversibly worn on both sides.
In a further example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the clothing garment further comprises one or more members selected from the group consisting of strings, clips, snaps, buttons, buttonholes, hooks and eyes, to allow the garment to be secured in place or to attach accessories.
The centrally disposed slit of the clothing garment of the present invention allows the garment to be worn by a user in many different forms, such as in the form of a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero or pants.
In another aspect, the present invention provides a use of the clothing garment defined above as a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero or pants.

The present invention relates to the clothing sector, and more particularly to a multi-functional clothing garment that can be worn in many ways and styles.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
EP 2 400 865 B1 describes a piece of clothing comprising a tubular fabric that can be worn in different ways, which has two opposite open ends (3A, 3B), a first pair of oppositely disposed slits (5A and 6A) and a second pair of oppositely disposed slits (5B
and 6B). The first and second pairs of oppositely disposed slits are oriented transverse with respect to the length of the tubular fabric and are located at the same position with respect to the corresponding ends (3A, 3B) of the tubular fabric.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the clothing sector, and more particularly to a multi-functional clothing garment that can be worn in many ways and styles.
It is practical for one to have a single garment available, especially when travelling, which can be easily converted into different types of clothing or accessories that are needed for different occasions and weather conditions. The present invention provides a simple clothing garment that functions in this manner.
In one aspect, the present invention provides a clothing garment comprising a body having an upper section, a central section and a lower section, the body having a generally tubular structure and an overall approximate arm span length, wherein the body has a slit disposed on one side of the body along the central section at an orientation transverse to the length of the body, and wherein the body is made of stretchable fabric and can be knitted or sewn into a shape and/or sewn along a plurality of edges and openings.
In examples of the clothing garment of the present invention, the slit can have a width of half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, a width of greater than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, or a width of less than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
In another example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the slit is disposed approximately at the mid-length position of the body.
In a further example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the body has only one slit disposed along the central section.
In even further examples of the clothing garment of the present invention, i) the upper and the lower sections are made of different fabrics on an inside or outside of the garment, ii) the upper and the lower sections have different colours on an inside or outside of the garment, or iii) the upper and the lower sections have different patterns on an inside or outside of the garment, or a combination thereof.
In another example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the clothing garment can be reversibly worn on both sides.
In a further example of the clothing garment of the present invention, the clothing garment further comprises one or more members selected from the group consisting of strings, clips, snaps, buttons, buttonholes, hooks and eyes, to allow the garment to be secured in place or to attach accessories.
The centrally disposed slit of the clothing garment of the present invention allows the garment to be worn by a user in many different forms, such as in the form of a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero or pants.
In another aspect, the present invention provides a use of the clothing garment defined above as a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero or pants.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present invention relates to the clothing sector, and more particularly to a multi-functional clothing garment that can be worn in many ways and styles.
The present invention relates to a clothing garment comprising a body (10) having an upper section (20), a central section (30) and a lower section (40). The body (10) has a generally tubular structure and an overall approximate arm span length. The body can, however, be longer or shorter that an approximate arm span length.
The body has a single slit (50) disposed on one side of the body (10) along the central section (30) at an orientation transverse to the length of the body (10). The central section of the body of the clothing garment is disposed approximately at the mid-length position of the garment.
The body (10) is made of a stretchable fabric and can be knitted or sewn into a shape and/or sewn along a plurality of edges and openings.
The slit (50) may have a width of greater than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, or less than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
The upper and the lower sections (20, 40) may be made of different fabrics, different colours, different patterns, or a combination thereof on an inside or outside of the garment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present invention relates to the clothing sector, and more particularly to a multi-functional clothing garment that can be worn in many ways and styles.
The present invention relates to a clothing garment comprising a body (10) having an upper section (20), a central section (30) and a lower section (40). The body (10) has a generally tubular structure and an overall approximate arm span length. The body can, however, be longer or shorter that an approximate arm span length.
The body has a single slit (50) disposed on one side of the body (10) along the central section (30) at an orientation transverse to the length of the body (10). The central section of the body of the clothing garment is disposed approximately at the mid-length position of the garment.
The body (10) is made of a stretchable fabric and can be knitted or sewn into a shape and/or sewn along a plurality of edges and openings.
The slit (50) may have a width of greater than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment, or less than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
The upper and the lower sections (20, 40) may be made of different fabrics, different colours, different patterns, or a combination thereof on an inside or outside of the garment.

In addition, the clothing garment may further comprise strings, clips, snaps, buttons, buttonholes, hooks, eyes, or combinations thereof to allow the garment to be secured in place or to attach accessories.
The garment of the present invention is very practical in that it can easily be transformed from a scarf that is worn around the neck into a cowl neck dress, a shoulder top, a skirt or a bolero to accommodate the wearer for different occasions and weather conditions.
This item is very useful, especially when traveling as it can be worn as a piece of clothing alone or as an accessory.
The garment can be knitted in tubular shape or can be sewn into the shape and/or along the edges and the openings.
As it is made from a stretchable fabric, the garment can fit well on a body of an individual and can have many configurations, some of them being, but not limited to a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero and pants.

Claims (13)
1. A clothing garment comprising a body having an upper section, a central section and a lower section, the body having a generally tubular structure and an overall approximate arm span length, wherein the clothing garment has a slit disposed on one side of the body along the central section at an orientation transverse to the length of the body, and wherein the body is made of stretchable fabric and can be knitted or sewn into a shape and/or sewn along a plurality of edges and openings.
2. The clothing garment according to claim 1, wherein the slit has a width of half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
3. The clothing garment according to claim 1, wherein the slit has a width of greater than halt of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
4. The clothing garment according to claim 1, wherein the slit has a width of less than half of the overall width of the body of the clothing garment.
5. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the slit is disposed approximately at the mid-length position of the body.
6. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the body has only one slit disposed along the central section.
7. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the upper and the lower sections are made of different fabrics on an inside or outside of the garment.
8. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the upper and the lower sections have different colours on an inside or outside of the garment.
9. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the upper and the lower sections have different patterns on an inside or outside of the garment.
10. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 7 to 9, wherein the garment can be reversibly worn on both sides.
11. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein the clothing garment further comprises one or more members selected from the group consisting of strings, clips, snaps, buttons, buttonholes, hooks and eyes, to allow the garment to be secured in place or to attach accessories.
12. The clothing garment according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the clothing garment is in the form of a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero or pants.
13. A use of the clothing garment defined in any one of claims 1 to 11 as a scarf, a hoodie, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bolero or pants.
