Abstract

There is provided a sewing assembly that comprises a plurality of pins for receiving spools of thread, a plurality of pairs of thread cutters and retainers adjacent an extremity of the container, a plurality of slots located therebetween, and a needle threader. Thread unwound from a thread spool and received within a respective slot is cut by pressing he unwound thread at a desired length within a respective thread cutter so as to cut the unwound thread and simultaneously retain uncut thread within a respective thread retainer.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to sewing box and more particularly, relates to built-in needle threader and routing, cutting and retaining system for the sewing threads.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Sewing boxes had been around for a long time now and are there to stay. Sewing machines are used for large and tough job but a lot of peoples around will be more than pleased owning a small sewing box containing all they will need to make some minor fabric repairs.
However, very little innovations had being made in the concept of use of sewing boxes thru time, especially concerning the threading of the needle and the ease of management and cutting of the threads themselves. A lot of products on the market are readily available in order to help threading the needles and sewing boxes are in fact considered as sewing threads storage containers, thus requiring the use of many different devices in order to get the job done.
While using many different products works, it would be useful to have all needed devices incorporated into a single turnkey product that may be used as a thread rolls container, a needle threader and a thread cutting and retaining system. While using a simple cutting system composed solely of the cutting part would work, the addition of a retaining element behind the cutting section is allowing for a better thread retention, keeping it from falling from the cutting section and thus keeping it ready for further operations.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a thread routing, thread cutting and needle threading system suitable for sewing boxes.
The present invention utilizes specially designed thread routing slots that ensure the correct alignment for the threads in regard with the built-in threads cutting system featuring an added retaining part used for added thread retention strength and a built-in needle threading system that also serves as a protection for the fragile needle threader while it is in storage position.

Having thus generally described the invention, references will be made to the accompanying drawings illustrating an embodiment thereof, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a sewing box having a built-in thread cutting system, a built-in needle threading system and routing slots for threads alignment in relation to the cutting system;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the cutting system showing parts used for cutting and retaining the threads;

- 2 -DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to the drawings in greater detail and by reference characters thereto, there is illustrated in Figure 1 a sewing box which is generally designated by reference numeral 1 and which includes a built-in needle threader designated by reference numeral 2, a built-in thread cutting and retaining system designated by reference numeral 3 and a thread routing and alignment slot system designated by reference numeral 4. It will be understood that illustration is schematic and for purposes of illustration only as it may comes in different positioning, number and dimensions. I will be understood that other parts and accessories had been voluntary removed in order to clarify the drawing of principle, thereof thread rolls and thread rolls shafts.
As may be seen in Figure 2, thread cutting and thread retaining system is composed of cutting part 6 and thread retaining part 5 that are to be aligned and may be configured in any number of cutting and retaining pairs configuration.
A built-in needle threader is generally designated by reference numeral 2. A
needle threader 2 includes a threader part 7.
A pivot section 9 is included within the main body 1. Pivot section 9 is used to guide the built-in needle threader 2 from storage position as shown in Fig. 3 to operating position as shown in Fig 4.
The built-in characteristic of the needle threader makes it readily available for needle threading operation eliminating the need for any other external device to perform this task.
While in storage position Fig 3, surrounding protection walls 8 are protecting the threader 7 from potential external damages that may occur.
While in operational position Fig 4, the built-in needle threader system 2 is kept in upward position by the fact that it is touching the main body 1. The positioning of the pivot 9 into the main body 1 is then of great concern.
- 3 -As may be seen in Figure 5, alignment of thread cutting 5 and thread retaining shall be made in relation with corresponding thread slots 4 in order to keep the thread 10 aligned for proper cutting and retaining operation.
Figure 6 illustrate the thread routing from the thread roll 11 thru the alignment slot
4 keeping the thread 10 in a constant position for proper cutting and retaining operation by the cutting 6 and retaining section 5.
As may be seen in detail view F of Figure 7, once routed correctly to the routing and alignment slot 4, the thread 10 cannot escape the alignment slot.
It will be understood that the above described embodiment is for purposes of illustration only and that changes and modifications may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims (9)

Claims:
1. A sewing assembly, comprising:
a container comprising a compartment haying a plurality of pins for receiving spools of thread;
a plurality of pairs of thread cutters and retainers adjacent an extremity of the container;
a plurality of slots located therebetween, each slot being configured to receive therethrough unwound thread from one of the spools of thread, and to align the unwound thread towards a respective pair of thread cutter and retainer: and a needle threader connected to the container, wherein the unwound thread received in a respective slot is cut by pressing, the unwound thread at a desired length within a respective thread cutter so as to cut the unwound thread and simultaneously retain uncut thread within a respective thread retainer_
2. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the container is defined by a surface and by a pair of sidewalls.
3. The assembly of claim 2, wherein the container further comprises i partition wall defining the plurality of slots, the partition wall being secured between the pair of sidewalls.
4. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the partition wall is perpendicular relative to the pair of sidewalls.
5. The assembly of any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the thread retainers and the thread cutters are made of the same material.
6. The assembly of any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the thread retainers and the thread cutters are integrally made.
7. The assembly of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the needle threader is pivotably mounted to the container and movable between a storage position and an operational position.
8. The assembly of claim 7, wherein the needle threader in the operational position is retained by a portion of the sidewall.
9. The assembly of any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the needle threader is connected to the extremity of the container, adjacent the plurality of pairs of thread cutters and retainers.
