Abstract
My invention is a chemical that is applied to: regular mixing stick; a straw, a stir stick, or any product that is used to put into a drink or beverage or applied on the interior wall where drinks are poured into, which detects any and all drugs that are considered 'date-rape' drugs or incapacitating drugs. This chemical process will be applied during the production of straws;
stir sticks; and any other items that are put into drinks or beverages. The purpose of this invention is to be able to identify if a person's drink was tampered with a drug that can debilitate the person. When a incapacitating drug is detected, the chemical reaction will produce a bright blue colour that will appear in the liquid drink. The beverage will turn blue. If the drink is blue, the chemical process will turn the beverage black.
stir sticks; and any other items that are put into drinks or beverages.
Description
The description of the invention is as follows: the title of my invention is Blue Warning. My invention is a chemical that identifies drugs used to incapacitate and debilitate a person when the drugs are slipped into common beverages, by resulting with a colour blue appearing in the liquid of the beverage. These drugs are usually identified as "date-rape" drugs. This chemical invention will coat any item that has a function to be placed into any drink or beverage:
straws, stir sticks, etc.. or used to coat the walls of items used to pour drinks into: example: plastic glassware. The background information for my invention relate to how date rape drugs are used to assist in sexual assault. These drugs come as pills, liquid, or powders. They are slipped into a drink when a person isn't looking.
These drugs often have no colour, smell, or taste, so you cannot tell if you are being drugged. The drugs can make you weak, confused, and even pass out, so you are unable to refuse or defend yourself, you may not remember what happened while you were drugged. ( source:
http://
www.medicinenet.com/date rape drugs/article.htm). The 3 most common date rape drugs:
Flunitrazeoan (Rohypnol); aka: Roofie which is detected in urine 72 hours later; Gamma hydroxybutyric (GHB); aka: Liquid Ecstasy (most potent; 15 minutes to react);
Ketamine ; fast acting (might be aware of what is happening to you, but unable to move). My invention is one of a kind; there has not been any prior invention or prior art that has the same chemical that coats drink items as in my invention as a form of drug detection. My invention is completely new.
For a description of the invention in detail, my invention is a chemical that coats any drink utensil that have for function to be placed into any drinks or beverages: straws; stir sticks; or used to coat the walls of items used to our drinks into. This chemical coating has the function to detect drugs that have the purpose to incapacitate and debilitate the person drinking a beverage that has been poisoned by these drugs unbeknownst to the victim. The chemical coating is invisible and not harmful to the user once it comes into contact with a beverage or when a beverage is poured into a glassware with this chemical coating. The colour blue created through the chemical reaction of the chemical coating of the drink utensil when it comes into contact with the illicit drugs would identify that the drink was tampered with and warn both the victim and surrounding persons that a drink was sabotaged and that there is a culprit in the vicinity. If, however, the victim does not notice the change of colour of the drink (because the room is dark) and then proceeds to drink the beverage, the blue liquid from the drink will stain any areas of the victim in which it comes into contact with (i.e. lips) with the colour blue. This would identify to surrounding people and to the authorities that the victim has been incapacitated with an illicit drug. If the drink of the victim has not been tampered with, the drink utensil and the beverage will not change colours. The beverage will not be harmful for consumption after the utensil has been used. The utensil must be discarded after every use and a new straw be used for every new drink. Here is an example of how my invention can be used: for the purpose of this description, I will use the example of a straw. The straw has been coated with the chemical and is placed into a beverage. If the drink is not contaminated by the illicit drugs it was created to detect, then nothing occurs. The beverage can be consumed without concern. Once the straw comes into contact with a liquid that has been contaminated by the illicit drugs that have the function to debilitate and incapacitate the victim (that have been slipped into the drink without the knowledge of the victim), the drink and the straw will turn a bright blue colour, sending a warning that the drink has been tampered with. If the beverage is already a blue colour (prior to having been tampered with because beverages do come in many different colours, including blue), and the illicit drugs are slipped into this blue drink afterwards, the straw with still turn blue but the colour of the drink will turn black.

Claims (2)
1) the first claim is that the chemical solution has the purpose to detect drugs in a liquid solution that have the purpose to incapacitate and debilitate the person.
2) the second claim is that the chemical solution will turn any liquid solution into a colour blue once it comes into contact with drugs that have the purpose to incapacitate and debilitate the person. If the beverage is already a blue colour, the chemical solution will turn into the colour black. The invention is a chemical solution that is not harmful when ingestion without coming into contact with the reagent, and is not harmful when ingestion when it does coming into contact with the reagent.
