Description

LOADING PALLET FOR TRANSPORTING LONG OBJECT
This application claims priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2015-tiled on January 23,2015 in the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
BACKGROUND
1. Field of the Invention The invention relates to a loading pallet for transporting a long object, and more particularly, to preventing a long metallic object such as a pipe or a beam from being damaged, or moved or misplaced over a loading pallet, while being transported.
2. Description of the Related Art In general, a loading pallet is used for loading or storing an object to be transported on a base plate after forming holes into which the forks of a forklift are to be inserted on the base plate.
The loading pallet is generally formed of wood or a synthetic resin or of a metal material.
For a long object such as a steel pipe or a steel beam that is generally very heavy in weight, the loading pallet may be fabricated to have a structure in which the base plate is formed of steel as an H-shaped beam and a rubber plate is attached onto the base plate to prevent the object from being damaged by friction or collision with the base plate.
FIG. 1 is a perspective schematic view of a related-art loading pallet.
Referring to the related-art loading pallet illustrated in FIG. 1, horizontal members, which are arranged at a predetermined distance from one another, and vertical members, which are arranged at a predetermined distance from one another, are installed at a right angle from each other. The horizontal members include square pipes 1 and 2, which form the outermost sides of the related-art loading pallet, and inner square pipes 6, which are installed among the vertical members. The vertical members include square pipes 3 and 4, which form the outermost sides of the related-art loading pallet, and an auxiliary pipe 5, which is fixed the inner sides of the square pipes 1 and 2.
An elastic member such as a rubber plate may be attached onto a steel pallet having the horizontal members and the vertical members. The rubber plate, which is soft in texture, may often be torn, pressed, and damaged, thereby causing damage to the cargo loaded on the loading pallet, which may lead to a huge economic loss.
to To load, and fix, an object onto the base plate of the related-art loading pallet, fixing equipment is needed. However, some objects such as steel pipes that are cylindrical in shape are not easy to properly fix onto the base plate, even with the use of binding bands, because they tend to roll on the baes plate.
SUMMARY
Exemplary embodiments of the invention minimize damage to cargo by forming a base plate, i.e., a frame, using metal beams so as to be able to load heavy-weight cargo thereon and forming a wood pedestal on the frame to be spaced from the frame by a predetermined distance, and allow the use of wood, which is costly and easy to deal with, as the material for guards for preventing movement and escape of cargo.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention also allow locking members for preventing, for example, steel pipes, from rolling to be easily attached onto guards with nails.
However, exemplary embodiments of the invention are not restricted to those set forth herein. The above and other exemplary embodiments of the invention will become more apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art to which the invention pertains by referencing the detailed description of the invention given below.
According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a loading pallet includes: a base plate including vertical steel beams, horizontal steel beams, which are coupled to the vertical steel beams, and a middle frame, which is arranged in a longitudinal direction of the vertical steel beams; shape steels, which are fixed to a top surface of the base plate, each of the shape steels including a recess; scantlings respectively coupled into the recesses of the shape steels; and coupling means for coupling the shape steels and the scantlings.
The loading pallet may also include a pin coupling pipe provided in a predetermined area near a corner of the base plate; and an escape prevention pin to be inserted into the pin coupling pipe.
Guards, which are formed of a wood material, may be coupled to the scantlings via coupling means and may be provided as one of side guards, front guards, upper guards, double stack guards, and roll prevention guards.
Grooves may be formed on each of the scantlings.
According to another exemplary embodiment of the invention, a loading pallet includes:
a base plate base plate including a pair of vertical steel beams, each of which has tow rings, horizontal steel beams, which are fitted and welded to both ends of each of the vertical steel beams and each of which has a plurality of lift rings formed on outer sides thereof, a middle frame, which is coupled to middle part of the vertical steel beams along a longitudinal direction of the vertical steel beams, and reinforcing beams, which reinforce corners formed by the vertical steel beams and the horizontal steel beams and have both ends welded, and coupled, to the vertical steel beams and the horizontal steel beams; shape steels, which are fixed to a top surface of the base plate, each of the shape steels including a recess, which is open at the top thereof, and
3 through holes, which are provided on a side of each of the shape steels and are spaced from each other by a predetermined distance; scantlings formed of a wood material and respectively coupled into the recesses of the shape steels so that parts of top surfaces of the scantlings are exposed; and coupling means for coupling the shape steels and the scantlings, wherein the loading pallet further includes an escape prevention pin, which is provided at a corner of the base plate, is hung by a tow rope, and includes a locking protrusion formed at the top thereof, and a pin coupling pipe, into which the escape prevention pin is to be inserted.
According to the exemplary embodiments, since the base plate of the loading plate, i.e., a frame, can be formed using metal beams, heavy-weight cargo can be loaded.
Also, since a lo wood pedestal, which is spaced from the frame by a predetermined distance, can be supported by the shape steels, heavy-weight cargo can be loaded without causing damage to the cargo. Also, since guards formed of a wood material can be used for preventing movement and escape of cargo, the ease of operation can be improved, and the manufacturing cost of the loading pallet can be reduced because the coupling between wood members is generally easier than the coupling between metal members or between a metal member and a non-metal member.
In addition, the wood pedestal and the wood guards may be highly effective for the transport of exports such as long steel frames and steel pipes because they allow grooves or locking members to be easily formed thereon or coupled therewith nails and thus enable a stable stack of cargo.
Since the escape prevention pin and the pin coupling pipe into which the escape prevention pin is to be inserted are formed at a corner of the frame, the invention may be highly useful for stacking loading pallets.
Other features and aspects will be apparent from the following detailed description, the drawings, and the claims.

FIGS. 2 and 3 are perspective views of a loading pallet according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
6 FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view of a loading pallet according to another exemplary embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 5 is a coupled perspective view of the loading pallet of FIG. 4.
FIG. 6 is a reference view illustrating a state of use of the invention.
FIG. 7 is a reference view illustrating a scantling according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 8 is a reference view illustrating a state in which loading pallets according to some exemplary embodiments of the invention are stacked.
A loading pallet 100 for transporting a long object according to an exemplary to embodiment of the invention includes a base plate, which includes a pair of vertical steel beams 110 each having tow rings 111, horizontal steel beams 120 each having a plurality of lift rings 121 formed on the outer sides thereof and coupled to the vertical steel beams 110, a middle frame 130 arranged in a longitudinal direction of the vertical steel beams 110 and welded to particular parts of the vertical steel beams 110 and of the horizontal steel beams 120.
1 5 The base plate may also include reinforcing beams 140, which reinforce the corners formed by the vertical steel beams 110 and the horizontal steel beams 120 and are coupled to both ends of each of the vertical steel beams 110 and the horizontal steel beams 120.
The loading pallet 100 also includes shape steels 200, each of which includes a recess 210, a scantlings 300, which are respectively coupled into the recesses 210 of the shape steels 20 200, and coupling means 400, which is for fixing the shape steels 200 and the scantlings 300 together.
Each of the shape steels 200 may also include through holes 220, which are provided on a side of a corresponding shape steel 200 and are spaced from each other by a predetermined distance.
7 The scantlings 300 may be formed of a wood material, and may be respectively coupled into the recesses 210 of the shape steels 200 such that parts of the top surfaces of the scantlings 300 may be exposed. The reasons for forming the scantlings 300 using a wood material are as follows.
As will be discussed later in detail, guards 600 may be provided to robustly fix cargo A.
The guards 600 may be formed of a wood material. Thus, by forming the scantlings 300 using a wood material, the coupling between the guards 600 and the scantlings 300 may be facilitated, and as a result, the manufacturing cost of the loading pallet 100 may be reduced.
For example, the base plate may be formed of a metal material. In this example, to o couple the guards 600 to the base plate, the guards 600 may need to be formed of a metal material, and the coupling between the two metallic elements may require rather complicated coupling means such as welding or the use of bolts and washers, which may be highly inconvenient.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the scantlings 300 are formed of a wood material, Is and the guards 600 are also formed of a wood material. Accordingly, the guards 600 may be easily coupled to the scantlings 300.
Since wood elements can be coupled together simply using nails or screws, the coupling between the guards 600 and the scantlings 300 may be facilitated. Also, the guards 600 may be formed in various shapes.
20 That is, as illustrated in FIG. 4, each of the guards 600 may be implemented as a side guard 620 and a vertical guard 640, which prevent escape of cargo to the sides of the loading pallet 100, a front guard 610, which prevents escape of cargo to the front of the loading pallet 100, an upper guard 630, which prevents escape of cargo to the top of the loading pallet 100, a
8 =
double stack guard 650, which allows a double stack of cargo, or a roll prevention guard 660, which prevents cargo such as steel pipes from rolling.
The guards 600, which are of various shapes, can all be coupled to the loading pallet 100 simply by using nails or screws, and this means a very quick, easy stabilization of cargo.
As illustrated in FIG. 7, each of the scantlings 300 may be configured to have grooves 310 formed thereon so as to prevent cargo such as, for example, steel pipes or steel beams, from rolling or moving.
Referring further to FIG. 3, the loading pallet 100 may also include an escape prevention pin 500 and a pin coupling pipe 530 into which the escape prevention pin 500 is to be inserted.
The pin coupling pipe 530 may be provided in a predetermined area near a corner of the base plate.
The escape prevention pin 500 may be provided adjacent to the pin coupling pipe 530 and may be coupled to the base plate via a tow rope 520. The escape prevention pin 500 may include a locking protrusion 510 formed at the top thereof.
In a case in which the loading pallet 100 is stacked over another loading pallet 100, the escape prevention pin 500 may be used to prevent each of the loading pallets 100 from escaping from the stack thereof That is, referring to FIG. 8, in a case in which a first loading pallet is stacked first and a second loading pallet is stacked over the first loading pallet, the first loading pallet may include a first pin coupling pipe, and the second loading pallet may include a second pin coupling pipe.
An escape prevention pin of the second loading pallet, which is disposed above the first loading pallet, may be inserted into both the first and second pin coupling pipes, thereby preventing the first and second loading pallets from sliding off the stack thereof and collapsing.
9 The lift rings 121, which are provided on the sides of each of the horizontal steel beams 120, are for inserting wires or rings thereinto when lifting and loading the cargo A onto the loading pallet 100. Rings 122, which are spaced from each other by a predetermined distance, may also be formed on each of the horizontal steel beams 120. The rings 122 may be for binding cargo with a cargo binding strap.
The term "coupling means", as used herein, may indicate nails, screws, and bolts and nuts, and various other means for coupling.
The exemplary embodiments of the invention have been described with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, those skilled in the art will appreciate that many variations io and modifications can be made to the disclosed embodiments without substantially departing from the principles of the invention. Therefore, the disclosed embodiments of the invention are used in a generic and descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation.
