2. ABSTRACT
The EASY RISER is a simple robust ergonomic device enabling older users with failing muscles and joints and those with some other infirmity or recovering from injury or surgery to lower and raise themselves to and from kneeling on the floor or ground comfortably with a much reduced amount of effort.

3. DESCRIPTION
Older and infirm persons lose quality of life because of their inability to lower themselves to a one or two knee position and rise again without causing considerable difficulty and discomfort. This simple physical action, whether in the garden or at home usually requires the presence of a table, chair or walking stick to aid them to lower and rise from this position.
The EASY RISER is a lightweight ergonomic device of two joined interlocking plastic components (designed thus primarily for packaging purposes and ease of assembly). It consists of a circular foot measuring 5 1/2" in diameter moulded to a post to which an easy to grip plastic handle is attached.
The height if the EASY RISER is approximately 13 inches. It is very easy to carry and use in the garden and the home. A preliminary search indicates that there is no such device presently available. The EASY RISER promotes stability and confidence in the user and by consumer testing is regarded as a very advantageous product.
The EASY RISER is designed in such a manner as to have affixed to it an optional pair of panniers or canvas bags on either side of the handle for containing cell phone, secateurs, keys, small tools, etc. An EASY RISER used indoors will have an optional friction pad secured to the base of the foot. The name 'EASY RISER' is embossed on the surface of the foot. The product has been 3D printed from specifications for production of a mould. 4. CLAIMS
The EASY RISER very much enables body and joint movements involved in kneeling that otherwise cannot be undertaken or only be made with pain and difficulty. It enables the user to more easily bend to kneel either on one or two knees. The inventor, who is himself a senior citizen, finds weeding and planting borders, etc. very much easier and without the pain and suffering otherwise rendering such activities near impossible. Many other persons ¨ usually 60 years and older ¨ in closed trials have commented very favourably with the ease of use resulting in a much improved physical activity and, hence, improved lifestyle. The EASY RISER is intended for use with one hand thus stably and easily supporting bodyweight. No liability is accepted for misuse and the product is to be warranted for twelve months.

These people feel increased pain as they get older. This physical limitation impedes their ability to lower and raise themselves when functioning at ground level.
There are thus many gardening and household activities that they either cannot be undertaken or are able to do so slowly and with pain or severe pain.
The Easy Riser is a very simple device to get down and get up from physical activities using only a fraction of their declining muscle strength. For instance when kneeling either on one knee or both knees, to undertake, say, a gardening task like planting borders we estimate that it takes less than 30% of the effort and muscle strength otherwise needed. Thus a significant quality of life factor is present.
The markets to be targeted for the Easy Riser include the following:

Once demonstrated the demand is instant. As far as is known, nothing resembling Easy Riser is presently in the public domain.
Easy Riser is in prototype form and has been assembled and also 3D printed to scale as a preparatory manufacturing measure. A manufacturer has not yet been selected.
Marketing outlets have not yet been approached. It can be manufactured either in two assembled pieces in wood and plastic configuration or as a single moulded plastic item.
The Easy Riser requires to be protected in North America (NAFTA), Europe Union.
